I don’t know of one still in existence, so I looked it up. It’ has no locations on their map

and this in their rewards

When I was young, my dad, my mom, and I would go visit my aunt (dad’s sister) who lived in Florida every few years for a week or two. My dad’s parents would spend a good chunk of their winter down there as well. During our overlapping visit, my parents would usually take at least one night and go out for a nice meal for just the two of them. I’d roll with Grandma and Grandpa to Long John Silvers.
I have a handful of memories 30+ years later of my grandpa and many more years of memories with my grandma, but those dinners out are probably the strongest memory I have of the two of them together and the only one I can think of that is the three of us.
I usually regret the decision a few hours after visiting, but a chicken dinner with fries for slaw (with vinegar splashed on top) and a few hush puppies clog my arteries and fill my heart every few months or so…
i was okay with it in the 80s
There’s one two blocks from my house. I go there a lot. It’s falling apart and it’s run by some really sketchy looking people who are always super nice to me. I hope it stays in business forever.

Your local weed man went into business for himself.
Tbh solid way to clean your money, nobody’s looking twice at the books of a dated long John silvers.
Isn’t it owned by the same company that owns A&W (and one other place that I can’t remember?)
And it’s 2026, so that company is probably owned by PepsiCo or some shit.
There ARE Long John Silver / A&W mashups. Also, I forever think this song [video] when I hear A&W.
Pepsi is why we had Taco Bell and Long John’s mashups.
Also, the Kentacohut. KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut, all under one roof.
Our local LJS closed a few years ago.
Its a fish restaurant now.
I really love Long John Silver’s chicken actually. I know it’s primarily known for fish, but their chicken is probably my favorite chicken. The food is greasy as hell though.
Their batter is the same for the fish and just kicks on chicken. I’ll admit, I like their chicken far above their fish.
Less greasy than Capn D’s, at least in my area. I’ve never tried the chicken, but fish n fries are a delicious heart attack in a bag.
If you’ve tried their fish you’ve basically tried their chicken. Due to them being fried with the same batter in the same oil, they taste nearly identical. The fish doesn’t really taste like fish and the chicken doesn’t really taste like chicken - both taste like batter and grease that’s been reused one too many times.
I love it.
They used to do $5 plates, too, with two pieces of fish or chicken with fries, creamy coleslaw, and a few hushpuppies, with tartar sauce. I haven’t been in quite some time, so that probably went away?
I haven’t been there in maybe a decade if not more. My family used to buy their giant boxes of fried chicken or fish when I was a kid, never tried anything else.
Checking online, that $5 plate you mentioned is now $12 at my local LJS.
Yeah, it’s probably been about 8-10 years since I went, too. I guess it’s still not too bad of a deal, considering how crazy prices are. Better if they pay decent wages, but… It’s ljs.
fish & fries
What bastardised version of Fish & Chips is that supposed to be.
Yankee, like everything else we bastardized. 😂
If it doesn’t come drenched in vinegar & mushy peas on the side im not touching it.
Idk about the peas, but in little paper cones with salt flakes and acv, along with the scrambler, spun sugar, the whip, and cocked-up sites as yellow tin duckies scrolled along are some happy memories I’ve not had in a few decades. Thanks, mate.
I guess it stands to reason that the chicken is good cause the fish was garbage.
There is one in my hometown that i think pretty much has to be a front because i have never seen anyone actually inside the place and its in a seaside town with local fish and chips chain locations that have MUCH better food for the same price.
There’s actually one near me, about 15 minutes away

Same, though mine has an A&W with it.
It’s funny that their website shows none though. The whole site seems a bit buggy for me.
My wife has eaten their food before, I have not.
must be buggy. or maybe your ad blocker is causing a glitch? for me it shows the locations, broken down by state.
The site is definitely buggy. I zoomed into an area that I know has one, but it did not show until I searched for the city.
My local one had an A&W in there. They actually remodeled the whole building but when it reopened the A&W was gone. I liked having a hot dog with my chicken.
If you tap the link there’s a lot of them across the state.
Nearest to me is an hour away or more. It’s probably saving several neighbors from triple bypass surgery because of it, tbh.
Yum, hushpuppies and fried fish.
My town also has a long John silvers KFC combo. I have been there once in the past 10 years when my friend’s grandpa insisted on going
I eat at Long John Silvers whenever I’m in the area of it. It’s one of my favorite fast food places alongside Culvers. If they opened one in my town I’d probably eat it daily/weekly.
Culvers is delicious but oh so not good for you.
Rarely is any food I like good for me.
Its a big reason why I hate the fact yay I became allergic to fish
I still recognize their buildings, even after repurposing.
Carrying on the role of Pizza Hut before them
Old timey White Castles too.

Sucks to be in an area that never had these to begin with, cuz I’ve never seen one. I like weird “obsolete” architecture like this, but businesses typically don’t bother adapting buildings the way they used to anymore. Only new buildings get any personalization, and it tends to be minimal these days. Like a Mexican restaurant bought a building that used to be a supper club*, and they didn’t even bother to re-paint the interior, so it just looks like a lightly mexican-themed supper club now. Just no effort at all anymore.
*For those not in areas with proper supper clubs, which is the vast majority of the world since they are almost exclusively found in the Midwest US (the UK version of them is something entirely different, and I’ve no idea how common they are), they are cozy little dinner spots where you are more or less expected to sit and have a few drinks and socialize before your meal, such that they don’t really have music, take your order at the bar, and you move to the table when your meal is ready. Typically the best food around without breaking the bank, especially in small towns, most have a salad bar, decent community environment, reasonable prices sort of thing, so very very popular. In Wisconsin at least, always fish fry on Fridays, and prime rib on Saturdays and often Sundays, but can’t get those things the rest of the week. Just how they operate. Sometimes a limited fish fry is available on Wednesdays, though.
They used to be fun, they were made to look like a seaside shanty, with the wood decks and piers and ropes. Inside they had nets and treasure chests and everything was dark wood made to look like a galley on a pirate ship and you could even get a pirate hat. Now they look like a school cafeteria.
I’m convinced it’s a front for money laundering
Maybe, but it’s still owned by Yum! Foods Inc. afaik who also own Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, A&W, and KFC, so maybe it’s just on razor thin margins lol.
Apparently it hasn’t been owned by them since 2011?
Well damn! News to me! Looks like they also sold A&W and picked up something called Habit Burger.
Psst… I’ll give you a $10 if you give me some fish, but don’t tell anyone that you passed it along to your fish-vendor.
I haven’t had Long John Silver’s in a while. They closed all the locations in my city, but we found a new-ish, clean, shiny one in Asheville, NC.
The fish and chicken planks are god-tier and I regret not giving them more business when we still had them. Now all we have is Captain D’s, which is a poor facsimile for Long John Silver’s.
Does it include 4 stoned teenagers and a talking dog?
Serious answer, this seems to be a case of the company partially liquidating and turning over control of many existing restaurants to their respective franchisees but retaining key locations for the company.
This would explain why a lot of them are run down and haven’t updated their design aesthetic since the early 2000s.
This is a running joke in my friends group. Me had a big storm role through about 5 years ago and it totalled our local LJS. We all assumed that was the end, but nope, they rebuilt and are still operating. I haven’t been in many years, but I enjoy it.
I fuck with Long John Silvers, it pretty good.
They sell a bunch of fried shit, who doesn’t like fried shit
Me. With a few exceptions like fries. LJS has awful fries and awful everything else.
Silver’s has the finest fast food chicken in America. Their fries are wack though.
Long John Silvers. I wanna say I’ve never heard of it but it rings a bell.
Go to one. Get some hushpuppies and see the superior side dish.
I tried those once and cracked a molar on one. Had to get a crown.
So, obviously, never going there again.
