It’s indeed quite the mix joingoist delusions of grandeur making the average American think they as individuals are superior to those from other countries whilst not actually having much in the way of values, breadth of knowledge, education or wisdom.

Reminds me how the other day I was watching a Documentary about the war in Afghanistan and at one point there was this American soldier (possibly a Lieutenant) trying to convince a bunch of locals including some elders of something or other and even I (who am Portuguese) could recognize that this guy in his mid/late 20s was totally missing the social clues and natural social structure of the place, for example and not giving the face-saving “respect” to the elders of that culture even if you’re in a position of strength - go to a place thinking you’re a superior person with a superior culture and superior ways and don’t be surprised if the locals seem to “respect” your strength in your face whilst giving you the run-around if they can get away with it and undermining you behind your back.

TBF, they literally don’t have the range to hit anything other than US military bases and ships.

They could hit schools in USA allied countries where the USA military bases are. They could explicitly target the schools in the USA military bases. They’re not doing that, we would be told if they did.

Well, they could target a school in Qatar and end up hitting some residential area, but we’re not seeing that, it’s military bases that get hit and there’s better stuff to target than schools.

Yes USA bad, but let’s not pretend Iran has the moral high ground, sponsoring proxies groups that mostly attack civilians has been their spiel for decades.

The USA is 100% locked down by Israel.

Fuck Israel. Israel hates everyone that isn’t them, they want to kill or enslave us all.

I am not looking for people to reply to me I’m wondering why all these Israeli leaders saying “Only Israel matters” isn’t a bigger issue.

… I’m now remembering I’m not on Reddit and I can relax and not immediately jump into self defence mode.

Free Palestine, kill child predators and Nazis! Nice to not be on Reddit.

Israel started genociding Palestinians all the way back in the 1940s with the Nakba.

You can only claim this was “started” by Palestinians by very purposefully and very selectivelly choosing a cut-off point in time and refusing to acknowledge anything that happened before that.

Further, even if we accepted your incredibly selective time window to support the claim that “Hamas started it”, after the “who started it” comes the issue of “is the response of the injured part proportionate”, and given that the number of just the children in Gaza killed by Israel actually exceeds even Israel’s own claimed number of israelis killed in October 2024 by at least a factor of 10x, the response is undeniably incredibly disproportionate.

Taking in account the entirety of History as well as the number and nature of those killed by both sides, the reality of what we see now is an invading and occupying group - Israelis - who have been stealing from and killing the people of the land they occupied for almost a century, responded to the latest response from a Resistance groups of the people whose land is occupied with an incredibly disproportionate response were the civilians themselves (including children) were activelly targetted, to the point that they exceeded the violence and murderousness of the actual NAZIs in similar situations in the land they occupied during WWII - the NAZIs killed far fewer civilians in Occupied France as “punishment” for the actions of the Resistance Française than Israelis killed just in this one instance of response to the actions of the Palestinian Resistance.

It’s pretty spectacular to surpass even the NAZIs in murderousness.

Why is this argument with Israel always so one sided.

Because the war is onesided? It’s less of a war but a slaughter. There’s a lot more proof against Israel doing horrible thing to palestinian than hamas did to israeli, obviously people gonna lock in on that.

I’ll put on my cynical hat, and assume Iran isn’t a perfect humanitarian state.

They are fighting a different war, they know if the US gets the slightest amount of public support it’ll be Iraq/Afghanistan all over again, while the US is bombing Iran, Iran is fighting the propaganda war, and they are doing amazing.

From the lego videos, to only hitting targets the US public don’t care/can’t complain. Like military bases, Amazon Data centers…

They only have to fight until next election cycle. And this extremely unpopular offensive will be over. and they might even get a friendlier US administration.

Trump is 100% losing this war.

Iran is not perfect, but they do have very strong convictions and their own conception of what it means to be a humanitarian state.

Iran never developed or used chemical weapons against Iraq, even when Iraq used it against them. Producing chemical weapons is easy and Iran could have easily done it hade they wanted to.

In the same vein, Iran could have had nuclear weapons had they not decided to ban weapons of mass destruction.

Chuck and Hakeem criticisms of the war is that it is not being run competently enough, when Trump had a stopped-clock-moment and signed the first peace deal, they and the rest of BlueMaga were saying TACO Trump.

I have no faith a Gavin Newsom presidency stops the war.

Yeah the Japanese weren’t exactly doing great things at the time but their failure to offer a complete and immediate surrender following the collapse of the Nazi regime did not and could never justify the two most horrific, apocalyptic single attacks ever committed against a civilian population. The US leaders did it because they could, and because they wanted to show off their new toy.
