Reposting my own comment here:
I live somewhere with 2 Republicans on the ballot for one seat with no write in line.
I could have not voted at all on that item, but that wouldn’t have helped anybody but the worst of the two candidates.
I poured through more interviews and candidate statements from these two trashy people than any other candidate I voted for, just to find the one that was the least evil.
I still hate them both, but I voted for one to try and stem the bleeding because that’s how our Democracy works.
And adding a quote from Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello:
But in any and every contested race, as my mom Mary Morello always said, we have to fight the fascist every which way we can, recognizing that even if there’s but an inch of difference between two candidates, there are a lot of vulnerable people who could be greatly harmed in that inch.
Remider that voting in a Democracy is the bare minimum.
Everday citizens can protest, attend town halls, call their elected officials (or their opponents) and make their views heard. You can donate money, and if you can’t donate money, you can donate time, and if you can’t donate time, you can bring attention to issues that you want to change in your everyday life.
Voting is the most important thing you can do right now, but don’t forget the other stuff. Behind every politician is a team, behind that team are supporters, and behind the supporters are voters. You get to choose your level of engagement.
No shame on people that only vote. That’s better than 4 out 5 other Americans this year.
If only you lived in a democracy, lmao.
You know it’s been an oligarchy since your country’s founding right?
How’s the weather in Moscow?
You know I don’t give a fuck.
Of course you don’t. Libs never give a fuck, until it affects them. When its marginalized people, or foreigners, Libs are out to brunch. But when Imperialsm turns to Fascism, suddenly Libs start whining like a bunch of babies.
Yeah, and tankie shitnuggets can’t even rise to that level of moral duplicity on their best fucking day.
You think that the people who constantly support foreigners and marginalized people… don’t give a fuck about foreigners and marginalized people?
And yet I see Libs openly throwing those groups under the bus at the first opportunity.
Nope.
What is it that you think tankies do? Historically, tankies formed the Black Panther Party, Party for Socialism and Liberation, and the CPUSA (before they turned reformist). The tankies are regularly on the streets, donating time and money to building a better world.
What is it that you think tankies do?
Annoy the living shit out of every person in their general vicinity?
Say the dumbest shit imaginable on a consistent basis?
Talk the talk but never walk the walk?
Cry lots?
Hahaha sure buddy
Lol, you think tankies do anything but cheer on the crushing of students with military vehicles and encourage channeling dissent into inaction and subjugation. What a bunch of fucking losers.
Edit: if you keep reading, Cowbee here goes HAM on not just defending, but promoting the human rights and democratic process of North Korea, just so you know the level of disingenuous propaganda they are peddling.
“fuck you, got mine” is as American as apple pie, and not just for republicans.
A tried and true Democratic classic!
Good luck with that 👍
Don’t need luck. Need people to fucking vote.
For some reason I don’t think it’s gonna help much, lol. Could it be because you don’t live in a democracy? 🤔
Good luck with that.
The best defense you have for not voting is a single summary of an abstract of a poly-sci study done at one university 12 fucking years ago which I’m sure as fuck you didn’t read because it’s locked behind a paywall and clearly above the literacy level of any tankie fungal infection. Get serious or get lost.
Everyone else should keep fucking voting.
Edit: read more, this joker didn’t even bother to read the name of the university, let alone the summary of the abstract of a paywalled poly-sci journal.
Could it be because you don’t live in a democracy?
I just submitted a ballot. People who I have voted for have won. Some of them have been underdogs. Some of them even accomplished things they said they would.
That’s democracy, champ.
You .ml losers really know how to crash a party. Probably why you’re not invited to any.

This entire comment section shows how afraid you guys are afraid of being pushed out of windows.
Oh look, a twenty day old ml account trying to stop people from voting.
Link me where I said not to vote. I won’t hold my breath.

I love how Libs have to keep making up things rather than address the points being made. It lets me know how serious they are.

They’re right, cry about it
Y’all are a sensitive lot. So easily triggered and you have a meltdown, like a snowflake.
The person who throws a hissy fit when people say “your country isn’t actually a democracy” is complaining about others being a snowflake. The irony.
If voting didn’t matter they wouldn’t be trying to take it from you. You’re working for MAGA.

Presumably an unopposed seat on a ballot proves some generalized point about elections or America or something.
It’s California. There’s an open primary, I happen to live in one of the few red parts and for one spot the top two vote getters in the primary were Republican.
They didn’t run unopposed, the opposition just all failed to get a consensus. CA’s system isn’t perfect, but realistically a Democrat doesn’t have a chance in this particular district, maybe the less evil Republican has a shot though.
US elections involve some compromise. Vote for your ideal candidate in the primary, but after that there’s generally only 2 people who have any shot at a given seat, and throwing away your vote in protest helps the worst candidates succeed. That’s why elections spend so much money on attack ads - they want you feeling discouraged.
The meme also assumes billionares are spending all that money on one side. They spend it on both (bankman-fried who publicly donated to dems and secretley donated to republicans so he could guide regulations, have the ear of government, maybe even get an edge on people.) So its not like the parties truly are that different.
Didn’t Morello advocate for non-voting?
Yes and no, mostly no, but it’s open to interpretation.
Short version, he bragged about not voting for Harris, with the nuance (which is so easily lost in today’s society) that she was all but guaranteed to win California, so his protest vote did not, on it’s own, risk contributing to Donald Trump’s second term.
The flip side of that nuance is that his rhetoric about the subject, without the additional context, may discourage voting in swing states, which could help Trump/Republicans in a much more significant way than just not voting for Harris in California.
His follow-up statements clarified his stance, including the quote I provided.
His behavior overall was messy, but that quote holds up nicely on its own.
If this is your situation and you can’t even vote for the lesser of two evils or tactfully, you can spoil your ballot. It shows that you are not represented by the options given but also still believe in the need for representation and the democratic system. I drew a box that said none of the above.
And your vote got tossed in the box after being electronically tabulated like everyone else’s where no human ever even saw it. That guy’s actually accomplished something.
And what did clambake’s vote accomplish, that tazeycrazy’s didnt?
One more vote for the least bad option. One less vote for the worse option. The other idiots ballot was spoiled and so contributes to whoever wins. Our system sucks but it isn’t that complicated. Too complicated for tankies and both sidesers though.
And what did that accomplish? From what I see: absolutely nothing.
You know what contributes more to the Republicans winning? The Democrats refusing to do what their voters want, on easy to win topics, and the Democrat voters pretending that they are worth supporting.
The democratics are doing what their voters want insofar as they can without having any real power the last decade. What you’re actually wondering if why the democratic party doesn’t cater to the progressives and general public that don’t vote in primaries or generals for democratics. But why would the democratic party cater to non-voters? They don’t vote. May as well be republicans. You fix that by running progressives and voting in the democratic primaries. It’s a pretty simple system. Too complicated for both sidesers though apparently.
The democratics are doing what their voters want insofar as they can without having any real power the last decade.
Well, no. None of that is true actually. They had plenty of power under Biden and Obama, but chose to screw over their voters instead of helping them out.
What you’re actually wondering if why the democratic party doesn’t cater to the progressives and general public that don’t vote in primaries or generals for democratics. But why would the democratic party cater to non-voters? They don’t vote.
No, I’m not wondering that at all. They don’t cater to progressives and the general public, because their rich doners tell them not to. They also know that those people won’t vote for someone who fights against them. To get more voters they could run popular policies that people like, and then actually deliver on them. Hell, there was a whole movement warning Harris that she was going to lose votes if she kept running unpopular positions, and she told them to sit down, and shut up. So she lost votes.
If they delivered for the people, then the people would vote for them. You have your cause and effect backwards.
May as well be republicans.
So you think people who don’t want the US to back genocide, and want policies that help the workers are just like Republicans? Because that doesn’t make any sense.
You fix that by running progressives and voting in the democratic primaries. It’s a pretty simple system. Too complicated for both sidesers though apparently.
And what have the progressives accomplished? They’ve had power for a long time, and spent it all pretending that the Democratic leadership weren’t horrible monsters.
I want a party that fights for the people, not to keep the monsters in charge.
It’s a pretty simple system. Too complicated for both sidesers though apparently.
And yet you seem the be the one that doens’t know how it works. 🙄
How does your solution of letting republicans win benefit the people? Explain in detail with examples please.
I didn’t let the Republicans win, the Democrats did. They had the chance to run on popular policies that helped out the voters, but instead chose to support the Republicans, and help build out fascism.
Here’s a great example: Seattle raised their mimimum wage, made the rich pay more taxes, and helped Amazon workers fight back against Amazon, becuase we elected a Socialist who faught against the Democrats.
Do you prefer the smell of shit or rotten food? Both are bad, yet you still probably prefer one over the other. But if you turn up your nose when presented with the choice then you don’t get to complain about intestinal parasites or half-digested corn when someone plops a big pile o’ shit on your plate.
Well it’s a good thing that there’s more options than that. The reason we keep getting these dishes is that Libs keep pretending that there are only two options.
Do you not understand that “none of the above” isn’t runnng? Someone will get elected regardless of your forfeit to whichever side wins- and you just surrendered your vote to them.
Congrats on the hard work it must have been to intentionally still not learn how shit works this entire time. It must have been exhausting.
You could have shit on your ballot and left it there
Then none of my votes get counted.
And I keep saying that if stemming the bleeding is the best we can hope for, then that’s how democracy fails. Vote for the slightly-better candidate, by all means, that’s the best move in the here-and-now. But, unless we change the rules, it’s gonna be the same best move next time, too, and the patient only has so much blood.
Morello makes a very Utilitarian argument. The trouble is that it works equally well when your choice is between Hitler, who wants to murder 5,000,000 people, and Hitler Lite, who wants to murder 4,999,995 people. It makes all the difference for those 5 people, and voting for Hitler Lite is the best move.

This cartoon symbolizes one election cycle. We can argue about how many people should be depicted on the siding, but since there are 16 people on the main line, the Utilitarian argument works even if there are up to 15. And that’s what’s been happening: Labor got tied to the tracks in the '70s with the election of Jimmy Carter. Poor people joined them with the election of Bill Clinton. Palestine as a whole got tied to the tracks next to them in 2024. And now, they’re flirting with adding trans people to the line-up. And, no, that does not obviate the fact that the Republicans are indeed worse.
But that’s beside my point. This cartoon doesn’t depict the erosion of democracy and the crumbling of civil institutions. That can only go on for so long before the whole system fails.
That’s a lot of words to say “Republican fine”
My math is a little off, but can you remind me how many people died after 2018, again?
I recall it was more than one. COVID alone, I think it was somewhere north of a million, in fact.
I purposely had the amount on the republican side get cut off. It could go on for millions if it needs to. It’s hard to pin down a number.
I noticed you also didn’t include all the dead Palestinians the democrats created! American lives are clearly the only important ones lol.
If we add the dead palestinians, the amount of deads on the republican’s track tripples while it would have been a lot less on the Democrat side.
Thank you for proving why voting democrats is important, even though you are an 28 day old .ml account.
Wtf? More Palestinians were killed under Biden than trump. That’s a fact lol.
Hey look, the Palestinian card. And oh look, it’s the only card you’re holding in your hand. What a shocker.
Fuck the switch, rip up the rails.
Great, when are you going to start?
I bet you won’t do shit. You just want Republicans to win so you can feel better about your own country.
But even if fascism hell breaks loose in the US, it still wouldn’t come close to the shithole that is Russia. The KGB are just Nazis with a winter coat on.
On the other tracks should be millions of people in the global south
Tankies are bad people. Just to let you know

That’s great, but my comment has nothing whatsoever to do with tankies.
I don’t see a meaningful difference between accelerationist types
What are you on about, now?
Tankies. College kidz on drugs. Russian propaganda beneficiaries. Billionaire bots. Liberal-haters.
They put on quite a show here and in a few other places near election times. Afterwards they tend to fizzle out. Or stick to one or two comms about gaming.
It’s what they did in 2024.
Gamers with a hard R.
First, this user tells me that tankies are bad. Tankies think that the system is bad, and that its collapse is an unqualified good.
Then, they switched to accelerationists. Accelerationists want the system to collapse hard and fast, so that people don’t acclimate to poorer conditions, and get motivated to fix the system.
Meanwhile, I’m warning that the system is going to collapse, and we need to fix it ASAP.
Hence, my question. What the heck is they on about, now?
Sounds like you have an intellectual disability
We’ve explained to you so many times how you’re using the word wrong and yet you continue to do it. You’re a terrible troll.
You’re very obviously a tankie with your comment history.
I’m not sure what definition of tankie you’re using, but it’s not one I’m familiar with. Unless, like terrorist, it’s lost all denotative meaning and is just an insult to be hurled at people you don’t like.
Gotta love a commie. They’re too far gone and can’t negotiate quite a simple system
It’s almost like they have a different motive lol, idiots
We must defeat fascism by any means necessary.
Even if it means voting.
Get rid of the nazi plague. Hunt them down, put them in prison.
If both parties weren’t controlled by billionaires then they wouldn’t be donating to both parties.
Still, I vote anyway because why not? Especially with mail-in voting, it’s barely any effort or time.
One single dude seriously spent half a billion on this midterm. He expects a return on that investment… Don’t oblige him.
In California, there’s a billionaire tax proposition to make up for federal health care funding cuts.
Guess which side democratic governor Newsom is on.
Billionaires are spending a fortune in both parties, so that their influence in the lawmaking process is secured. Therefore, this meme falls flat. Vote nevertheless, because your only other option is civil disobedience or all out class war
God the cynicism in this thread is depressing.
You know why your vote doesn’t matter? …because you talk yourself out of getting of your lazy ass and using your vote.
This meme would hit harder if billionaires didn’t also spend fortunes on influencing democrats. Did you think Newsom blocked the billionaire tax out of the kindness of his own heart? About 60% of aipac funds goes to democrats. You think they’re just pissing away their money there?
If our .ml friends could read, they’d be very upset right now.
Tankies when you mention any democrat

They both bomb the middle east.
They also both breathe air. Wait a minute, do YOU breathe air too??
The analogy that bombing poors is to the commander in chief as breathing is to normal people is probably a little more based than you meant it to be
Hello ten day old both sides account.
Hello, angry and paranoid high-volume commentator. I made this account when slrpnk went down, and have immense faith in collective action and our shared humanity. No war but the class war :)
If you’re parroting nonsense that amounts to both parties being the same then you’re here in bad faith in the first place.
Age of the account doesn’t make them any less correct, you don’t have a better response because you know they’re right
No but parroting both sides nonsense makes them an idiot or a rube which is just a useful idiot. Anyways y’all work for fascists.
Cool. Though I don’t know why you’re telling me since that’s not an analogy I drew.
Is there another interpretation of “They also both breathe air. Wait a minute, do YOU breathe air too??” that I’m missing somehow?
It’s a fairly straight forward look at some other things they (and possibly the person I was talking to, jury’s still out on that) have in common. No value judgement.
You absolutely did. Just unintentionally.
Sure if you discount literally all context and nuance, but that’s kinda the tankie playbook innit.
The Author Is Dead, you’re entitled to your opinion and whatever I may have intended is of course of secondary importance.
What a clown-ass comment.
What’s a few wars of aggression between friends? What does it matter how many hundreds of thousands of people you kill, who’s counting?
B-but Trump bulldozed the East Wing of the White House! That’s what really matters!
Millions. They’ve killed millions within the last few decades and hurt many millions more.
There people care more about price of gas and some rose garden than many millions killed in their name.
Fkn deplorables have the nerve to get mad at anyone criticizing the Democrats instead of getting mad at their party for facilitating and funding a fkn genocide in front of our eyes.
I agree that the real number is higher, I only say hundreds of thousands because it is irrefutable that at least that many died, it’s horrific regardless of the exact number, and I want to avoid getting sidetracked by an argument about the details of who to count or what sources are more reliable.
- (around 50 are known, but likely much, much higher since records are being hidden or not reported) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deaths_in_ICE_detention
- (this is about 4,000,000 per year) https://ph.ucla.edu/news-events/news/research-finds-more-14-million-preventable-deaths-2030-if-usaid-defunding
- (this is about 7000 of all lives, not too mention the children they’ve killed in Iran) https://iranwarlive.com/casualties
- *edit (around 500,000 excess deaths happened during that time. He’s not responsible for all, but a good portion of them) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistics_of_the_COVID-19_pandemic_in_the_United_States
What’s the Gaza genocide that Biden and Harris facilitated? Or do you think its not a genocide or significant?
How about Syria?
Iraq?
Libya?
Afghanistan?
Somalia? Yemen?
What about USian veterans?
You’re only focused on Donald. Some of us are talking about all the victims of the imperial war machine, not just 1 man or 1 party.
How does any of this change what the more intelligent choice is for Americans in the U.S.?
50
7000
That’s nothing compared to the scale of death from the full-scale invasion and occupation of Afghanistan, which Obama (like Trump) chose to continue and double down on, when he could’ve stopped it at literally any time.
USAID
Is is worse to fail to prevent death, or to cause it directly? I don’t really care to engage in this game of whether directly killing hundreds of thousands of people is better or worse than failing to prevent the deaths of millions. Like, it should be clear enough that they’re both irredeemable mass murderers who nobody should be defending.
Two things can be bad at the same time.
I really don’t understand your point. You think trump is not that bad compared to Obama, but yet trump did all of the same things? Also, trump didn’t directly kill them, but I’m not going to discuss whether that’s good or bad. You’ll probably say the same about Covid then? Because he indirectly killed 100s of thousands* of Americans with his policies. Last comment.
That’s totally what I said, excellent reading comprehension, air breather.
Yes, it is.
“How can you possibly compare Ted Bundy to Jeffery Dahmer? So what if they were both serial killers, they both breathed air too, hEy, DoN’t YoU bReAtHe AiR?”
Dumbest shit I’ve read in a long while.
You accidentally a word there, mate.
You’re right.
All people are awful and none of them should be in charge.
are you discriminating against people that breathe oxygenated perflourocarbons?
Not at all. I always failed Chemistry though, should I?
Why are you dismissing the genocide in Palestine as though it’s as benign as breathing?
Because the victims are mostly muslims. The Christian ones aren’t following white European Christianity, they mostly follow the old creeds so they don’t matter. They’re “sand people” and beneath the ubermensch.
Most of the USians and a significant number in the western sphere don’t even acknowledge the genocide. They’re mad at the protesters who bitch and complain about the genocide. They’re okay with zionists murdering every single Palestinian in existence. Gas prices matter more than number of innocents slaughtered.
Because a genocide going on clear on the other side of the planet doesn’t change what the most intelligent choice politically is for Americans in the United States.
It absolutely does, considering the Statesian political project facilitates and props up the genocides in Palestine and Cuba. The US Empire is committing genocide because it economically benefits from perpetuating imperialism, and means the intelligent choice is to organize for revolution, rather than continue to prop up genocide.
Hell yeah, there we go. Nicely ml’d.
How else could it be interpreted? If you’re not going to answer this question, don’t bother replying.
Oh man haha. My dyslexic ass initially ready that as “they’re both born in the middle East” and I was like “well that certainly is a unique theory I haven’t heard before”
Did they both rape children too?
Biden’s White House had the Epstein files and could have released them at any time.
Idk if they rape children, but it sure seems they hid the information and avoided the prosecution of dozens to hundreds of people who definitely raped children.
One wants to murder children, the other wants to murder and rape children. See, tankies, they’re not the same at all!
They are different enough that choosing who to vote is no brainer :/
They’re similar enough that choosing to vote third party is a no brainer.
Give me someone kinda shitty, but not a genocidal freak, and I’d actually have to think about it. But these people are obviously unacceptable, and there are only two reasons one might think otherwise: either absolute, blind, unconditional loyalty to the party, or, not seeing the lives of Middle Easterners as human beings.
If your party won’t even consider my conditions and red lines, then what they’re saying is that they don’t want or need my vote. Fine then, stop complaining when you don’t get it.

If you dont like them or what they say… block them.
Stalk me harder baby. I’m almost there.
And one wants to execute trans people.
You don’t care about them, do you?
members of both parties support legislation that harms and kills trans people. or are you merely virtue-signaling for a group you don’t personally understand?
Hell, I’ve seen liberals on this very site demanding trans people vote for a Democrat who has openly promised to restrict their healthcare or work with Repubs to keep trans people out of sports.
The majority of Democrats do want rights for trans people.
While the Majority of Republicans don’t.
If you care about trans, you vote Democrat. There they get the best chances to live.

I got the memo about how you’re supposed to tell trans people to enthusiastically vote against their own safety. I think I missed the other one.
I don’t think the idea that certain wings of the capitalist class coalesce around different capitalist parties and therefore invest in elections heavily is antagonistic to the idea that neither party represents the interests of the working class. Capitalists are not a monolith, so they duke it out electorally, but workers end up getting crumbs at most regardless of who wins at the ballot box. It makes far more of a difference for them than it does for us.
Also think it’s funny that socialists supposedly can’t read, while also reading too much. “The enemy is both weak and strong,” yadda yadda.
And yet .ml has been screeching pretty much non-stop about how elections are pointless and have no effect. And don’t flatter yourself, your silly rabble doesn’t anywhere near rise to a level of “enemy”.
I’m sorry but I’m not a capitalist, whoever wins the election will continue the genocides in Palestine and Cuba, will continue the attacks around the world, will perpetuate a failing capitalist system that does not and cannot meet the needs of the people, that will not respect treaties with indigenous nations, and will not represent the working class. Elections matter most of all to the ruling class, as it picks which wing of the capitalist class will get to rule, not whether workers benefit or not.
As for socialists not rising to the level of enemy, the capitalist state certainly seems to disagree with you.
Cuba
Doubt, the US was slowly improving relations with Cuba. A lot of that was undone in Trump’s first term. Fixed a bit under Biden, and now it’s absolutely horrible.
Quite literally there was an option last cycle that would have prevented what’s happening in Cuba.
As for respecting Indegious nations perhaps you should talk to some Natives. Biden’s term the Secretary of the Interior was a Native American. Her name was Deb Haaland, absolutely amazing woman. Under her guidance she protected many important indigenous sites, expanded tribal consultants (and made their say matter), and renamed countless places back to their indigenous names. Never before had the Tribal Nations been this respected. Now that Trump won he’s replaced her with an oil guy pushing an “energy dominace” agenda. Which means expanding the exploitation of federal lands for oil, gas, mining, and timber. He’s delisted several protected sites so their resources can be exploited and slashed tribal consultation.
And this is what pisses me off about people spreading the rhetoric you do. You don’t actually care about minorities or oppressed people in the slightest. You use their suffering to justify your own political agenda. Were things perfect? No there’s a long list of issues that we likely would agree on, but many things were clearly better for many marginalized groups before Trump and there was an option to keep those positive changes in place. Yet you threw up your hands declared both sides are the same and allowed the poor and oppressed to become worse off. Minorities shouldn’t be your pawns for political rhetoric. Fake ally
Doubt, the US was slowly improving relations with Cuba.
Where do you people get this shit?
Doctors are having to work 16 hours a day to manually pump air into premature babies lungs because of the American embargo on Cuba.
Why are you describing the situation created by Trump? That’s the whole point that things were made way worse than they were.
Thank you for providing supporting evidence I guess
Why do you get to spout your bullshit without supporting evidence, but when I call it bullshit, you want sources?
Relations with Cuba were not improving. That’s a lie.
Where do you people get this shit?
Reality. You should try living in it. It hurts, but it’s where you can make the most difference.
They literally proved to you that relations were better with Dems at the helm (fucking duh). And your response was a single, dipshit sentence of no value to anyone.
No, relations with Cuba were not improving. The Obama administration was working to undermine the Cuban political project, and both the Obama admin and Biden admin continued the sanctions regime on Cuba. Biden performatively removed Cuba from the state sponsors of terror list right at the end, because he knew it would get struck down. You also clearly have not spoken with indigenous peoples. Making token gestures is not at all the same as respecting prior treaties and decolonizing Turtle Island.
I care deeply about the struggles in Cuba, Palestine, and indigenous struggles here. I devote my time and money to organizing for a better world, because I know these are not problems that can be solved under capitalism. Minority nationalities shouldn’t be your pawns for political rhetoric. Get in the streets, get organized, and stop treating the tokenizing of minorities under democrats that then perpetuate their butchery and oppression as liberation.
Do better. Join an org, and stop defending the capitalist class and their cronies.
Token gestures? I’ve worked closely with several tribal members in my time. They appreciated the work being done under Haaland. It was putting control of Native Lands back in to Native hands and restoring treaty agreements. Real tangible improvements in tribal sovereignty. That was undone instantly by Trump.
I’m sorry about Turtle Island whichever one you’re referring to, but neither candidate would do anything about that. But we had a candidate that was going to continue to expand tribal relations and tribal sovereignty within the US. Anyone that actually cared would have wanted this to continue, but I suppose the sovereignty and rights of Native American tribes isn’t as flashy for your rhetoric
What’s necessary, and what indigenous groups have been demanding for centuries now, is for every treaty to be respected. What they need is the full right of self-determination, up to and including secession. This has been demanded. The reservation system isn’t sovereignty, it’s apartheid. You’re describing these relations the same way Zionists describe relations with the Palestinian Authority.
It isn’t about “flash,” it’s about what’s both necessary and possible. We absolutely can decolonize Turtle Island (the north American continent), but Democrats and Republicans alike perpetuate settler-colonialism. Again, join an org, fight for a better world.
I was talking about elections in general, not the US midterm elections specifically. I actually agree that the US political system is deeply fucked up and the midterms will not bring any fundamental change. But the US are not the only country on earth and an imperfect democratic system can be improved. The kind of dictatorship you people would replace it with is definitely just going to make everything worse.
How is a system based on popular councils and mass participation at all levels of government going to make everything worse? What do you think socialists are advocating for in terms of democracy?
Says the guy who is regularly simping for the CCP. Your claims of trying to achieve a democratic system have zero credibility.
China has a far more comprehensive and integrated democratic system than the US does, based on popular councils and mass participation. See Socialism in Power: On the History and Theory of Socialist Governance by professor Roland Boer. This is, in my opinion, a much better democratic system than one that limits the participation of the majority to merely picking between which wing of the capitalist class will dictate how society goes. Do you have an actual argument against this, or do you just have a gut reaction based on vibes?
Have you actually looked into how socialist countries govern, before? Like, seriously looked at it? And seriously looked at what socialists propose we replace capitalism with?
your silly rabble doesn’t anywhere near rise to a level of “enemy”.
They’re like the chihuahua that’s biting at your ankles while you’re trying to fight a lion.
You know Cowbee cooked you good when you resort to calling it “silly rabble” instead of engaging.
Man, I feel so cooked already.
Your awareness of the situation, or lack thereof, doesn’t prevent the situation from unfolding.
I’ve blocked a bunch of election trolls. In threads like these I can almost feel their presence.
It’s always the same 5 users
I’ve been keeping track. These are the primary election trolls I’ve noticed during this election cycle.

I systematically downvote everything they post.

Well, the “memes of production” community seems to act like a reservoir where they breed up. They stay mostly confined to that habitat so you don’t tend to notice them.
Every month my ban expires and I see a thread from there and engage with some idiocy for 5 minutes before getting banned for another month.
You’re just mad that people don’t like your party and criticism of the other party is moot since they don’t like that party either.
Yeah I’m so mad.
So what am I supposed to make of all the huge billboards, text and phone campaigns, professional advertisements, and pushing by companies like Google telling me to vote?
If people who posted this shit spent their time and energy during the primaries telling people it’s a dumb fuck decision to be voting for politicians who support genocide and blocking strikes we’d all be a lot better off. Those people are our biggest obstacle. We cannot mount a strategic offense against fascism with these people undermining our efforts in every primary. Regardless of our opinions on the success of third way politics it is time to admit it’s lost to Trump twice and something needs to change.
pffft, both the same? no, no, no.
you generally get to pick between an oligarch and a corporatist.
but you should still make a choice. just know that once a country is completely run by oligarchs, there are only two paths: tyranny or revolution.
If both parties are the same then why is one party trying to do every possible thing to make it difficult for certain groups of legal US citizens to simply vote, let alone challenge every single outcome where they don’t win?
Sometimes I think breaking the two party system is the single most necessary thing for the USA. All this back and forth and debate about voting vs not voting and lesser evilism is ridiculous.
How the fuck did it ever get to a situation where you have two parties who both oppose electoral reform but you’re afraid to not vote for one of them in case the worse one wins?
This is democracy theater.
