The news in Belgium today for some reason started a live blog on Ukraine again. The headline said, in big letters: PUTINS WANTS TO DECLARE WAR ON NATO.

Needless to say it scared the shit out of me. Here I was thinking Russia may actually do it because of the way it was phrased. But it turns out it was just a US think tank that said it.

This is starting to reach the capitalist apologia end of climate change discussion. As long as we can prepare well enough, things won’t get that bad. Kill us all is stretch of course but we shouldn’t just downplay climate change and the disastrous conscequences it will have on the world and our society. Especially considering the people who are responsible for the majority of all pollution are not the people who will face the most direct consequences.

Don’t be afraid to go out and do things and fail at them. Interested in planting herbs and veggies? Do it. Will your first pepper plant die? Probably, but you can always do it again. Wanna play guitar? Do it. Will your first months of playing sound like dying cats? Absolutely. But have fun while trying at least.

Pretty okay. The weather is getting nicer and sunnier. I had a party this weekend at which I had some long talks with people about money and the general purpose of life and work.

I’m thinking about working towards a long trip next year. Maybe I’ll sell all my stuff even. I would love to hike to Santiago in Spain from my house which will take several months. It’s a thought that keeps me going.

I’d expected The Netherlands and Belgium to be high up the list as well. Virtually everyone I know here eats meat at least once and sometimes multiple times a week.

We have a meeting once a month in which we discuss upcoming actions. It’s usually in the evenings on a weekday. Depending on the actions we plan we either do them during the weekends or during the evenings throughout the week. Individual planning of things can be done whenever you want.

But that’s just our local group. For more party wide thing you usually get a call from someone asking you to come along to things. In Antwerp we often go to factory gates in the harbor at 5 am to talk to workers starting their shifts. I always do feel a bit of judgement whenever I decline to go (because I don’t have the time to do that every week) but honestly that’s their problem I guess. There are also things I don’t like to do for them. I’m not that great at bothering people to become a member at our events. I don’t like working with kids either, so I won’t do that.

I want to do a lot of things for them but I also want to be able to set my own boundaries and it’s up to them to decide whether or not they have a problem with that.
