I hope this museum has a section on collaborators from the Netherlands, otherwise it will be another whitewash museum about the Holocaust
Reality sometimes is stranger than fiction
Opening a place to showcase his art
Were there at least any protests?
Yes there was a big protest outside. Riot police attacked them. Also many orgs tried to ask the museum, the king and the president why they do this but then chose to ignore them.
As is tradition
Just to confirm, the only riot police attacks I can see are mentioned here. And the poster later admits she was joking and used an old lockdown protest video.
There are vids on Dutch left wing instagram channels that posted vids of police beating down protesters yesterday. Channels like Linksinhetnieuws.
“German Federal Council President Manuela Schwesig said it is important to keep saying “never again” and that there is no place for anti-Semitism. “Having you, President Herzog, here today is a special gesture,” she said.”
These people are inhuman scum. No suffering is too much for them.
I thought never again meant “against mankind” :(
I don’t know how Palestinians and anticolonial Jews would feel about this, but I honestly think that people should start honouring the Shoah and Nakba victims together, if only to atone for Zionists repeatedly abusing the memory of the Shoah for neocolonial purposes.
Of course, I fully expect plenty of people to say that I’m reaching and bending over backwards when I propose this, which is why I behaved somewhat facetiously when I suggested earlier that the anti‐Palestinian violence is part of the Shoah, but given that the occupation was arguably an outpost of the Third Reich, and that Palestinians have a great deal of Jewish heritage, I think that it is at least worth pondering for a moment.
