How are you going to use the app if the phone is locked and you can’t get in?
How are you going to use the app if the phone is locked and you can’t get in?
I do the exact same things - often with the exact same apps - as I did 15 years ago.
Google, eBay, PayPal, Amazon, Pandora, Associated Press, Box, Shazam, Kindle, Chase Bank, Flickr, Twitter, IMDB, 1Password, are all apps that I downloaded in 2009. If you add in the apps from 2010, that would cover 90% of what I do today.
Changes have been pretty minor overall and I don’t expect that to change.
Mine shows apps based on the time of day that I generally use them. It shows my workout app for the first few hours of my day because I do that every morning. It shows IMDB in the evening because that’s when I’m most likely to be looking at movie reviews while I’m trying to find something to watch for the night. It shows TikTok between 9-11pm because I always scroll for a few minutes before bed and that’s the only time I ever use it.
Visit the r/apple, r/ios, and r/iPhone subs every day. At least a dozen people per sub will post the second it is released.
I don’t close them. As far as I know, every app I’ve ever used could be suspended in the background right now.
What do you mean by “better”? I can text, listen to music, and use GPS exactly the same on both of them. Everything else is personal preference.
The charging port on my phone broke in 2021. I don’t know what it would have cost to get it repaired, but I’m certain it would have been more than the cost of the 3 Anker wireless charging pads that I bought for $45. I charged wirelessly for the next 2 years because that’s the only way I could do it. After I got a new phone with a functional charging port, I did not see any good reason to give up the convenience of wireless charging. I doubt I’ll ever go back.
If you are content to charge at 7.5w, then get the Anker 313 wireless charging pads. They work great and they are dirt cheap. There is a new wireless charging standard now (Qi2) and new chargers supporting that standard should be coming out any time now. Current Qi chargers are limited to 7.5w and don’t have magnets. The new Qi2 chargers will be 15w with magnets, so very similar to Apple’s MagSafe charger.
After 5,475 days of using iPhones with cases, I’ve had some scratched up sides & edges that I could not care less about and I once chipped a small piece out of the back glass of a phone when I dropped it directly on a large rock. These things are very tough & durable!
People reply with this anytime this topic comes up but it was never an issue for me. They left the remote sitting right where they used it which is on the couch or 6 inches in front of the tv.
Why would you use your remote which can only control the volume instead of using your phone that can control the volume and the music? If you are using the remote, you have to be in the room with the TV to see the screen.
I usually start thinking about replacing the battery or the phone at the 3 year mark. You could easily replace the battery for $100 and get 2 more years out of it. I kept my last phone for 4 1/2 years.
Where did it go that it took 20 minutes to find it? If mine is not immediately visible on my couch or on the table next to the couch, then it fell in the couch cushions. I know this because I only use it the couch. Why would I remove it from the room where the TV is?
No, 6 iPhones over the past 15 years with no case and no apple care.
Insurance for a relatively inexpensive repair is not worthwhile for me, especially knowing there is a virtually 0% chance I will ever use it. It’s not like I’m insuring a $40,000 car or a $300,000 house.
It’s a great idea but incredibly unreliable and frustrating. I had to turn it off.
Why did you miss the appointments? They are displayed in the calendar. You can have them displayed in a Home Screen widget. You get the same sound, banner, badge, Lock Screen, and Notification Center notifications in all iOS apps.
Most of Apple’s apps are lacking advanced tools and features. I have to look for those things somewhere else.
If I was a heavy or even moderate email user, I would be using something other than the Mail app. It handles attachments worse than any other app I have ever seen. It’s a disgrace that it can’t return to the inbox after deleting a message. The only reason I use it is because I can’t scroll the full length of an email from the lock screen notification banner without opening the app. No other mail app can do that. I delete 80% of my mail from the lock screen.
Other companies are not relevant. I own an Apple product, not a Google or a Samsung or a Dell product. I expect my hardware and software to work in a certain way. My expectations are based on the product I own, not products that someone else sells.
You can use any wireless charging pad, you can use Apple’s MagSafe charger, you can use any USB-A to Lightning cable with a USB-A charging brick, you can use any USB-C to Lightning cable with a USB-C charging brick. If you have previously owned any iPhone from the 5 to the 14, you can use the exact same charger & cable from those.
