I use triple tap with a shortcut to add the current playing song to my library, makes adding new songs while driving a breeze

That’s super handy, I want that too! I tried adding that in the settings, but couldn’t really find a suitable option in the “Back Tap” menu. Does it have to do with the Assistive Touch? Also, can you tell if this will work with Spotify, or if it’s only exclusive to Apple Music? TIA!

It’s not under the default settings, you need to setup a shortcut using the shortcuts app, I’ll show mine it’s very simple, once u make the shortcut then u can select it if u scroll down to the bottom of the list in the back tap menu, I don’t have Spotify so I can’t say anything specific but I’d assume that you can make shortcuts for it as well

So I tried and made some research, and I wasn’t able to create a Shortcut for Spotify. However I was able to create the same kind of Shortcut for Apple Music like you did. Some source on the internet suggested that there used to be a Shortcut option for Spotify at some point (like in iOS 13 or something?) but that it doesn’t exists anymore. Couldn’t find info whether or not it will come back anytime soon. If someone has more up-to-date information, please let us know.

Anyway, I decided I’ll be switching to Apple Music from Spotify, since I’m already in the Apple ecosystem and one of my family members is already using Apple Music.

Thank you for letting me know about the Shortcut, it’s been enlightening to me. I’ve been looking into other Shortcuts now as well, and they too will make my life easier. :)

I find Apple Music more convenient since I have an apple ecosystem as well, glad ur making the switch!

I wanted to use it for flash and screenshots. I used to initiate both options without intent left and right so I disabled it.

I use it since it went viral but the next day I totally forgot it was a thing, the thing is, it’s very inconvenience. You spent your time mostly on touches and suddenly a back tap is not in your muscle memory.

Yes, it launches a shortcut that takes screenshot and copies it in clipboard, not leaving it anywhere else. Very convenient.

I only use the triple tap for flashlight and that’s when it works. 9/10 times it doesn’t work when you want it to, and comes on randomly cause it thinks you tapped the phone 3 times somehow when it barely works when you tap it 3 times perfectly in the center of the apple logo in the perfect way not too hard not too soft… its barely functional, but the fact my flashlight comes on at least twice a week by itself when I don’t mean for it to, I will never run anything on the double tap cause it’ll go off and do whatever the action is all on its own but not work when I am intentionally trying to. Kinda a useless feature. Even with a caseless phone it barely works right. Honestly better off having it set like Motorola had theirs, doing a double or triple air chop while holding the phone. Use the phones accelerometer and gyroscope to do it instead of a tap that the phone barely ever registers.

It’s a great idea but incredibly unreliable and frustrating. I had to turn it off.
