The GOP have been huffing “traditional family values” for so long they thought everyone did too. They make a jab at Harris for not fitting the traditional family values, which they thought would land with the public, but it fell flat because “traditional family values” includes the subjugation of women, abuse of children, and a big helping of toxic masculinity. Naturally those ideas are rejected by the majority of Americans today.
The GOP got high on their on supply.
There’s this scene from The Boys S4– so spoilers abound— wherein Homelander spouts the conservative talking points to would-be donors behind closed doors and is told “yeah yeah save the talking points for the rabble.”
Which is great, as S4 is set in the stage where the Trump analogue takes power, but somehow we’re past that point irl. The guys in charge don’t seem to just be saying it for the “rabble” anymore. Sucks how far the right has moved in just a few years without losing significant support.
>demonizes childless cat ladies
>won’t let you get IVF
>makes memes about protecting catswhat do they want from us
They want you barefoot and pregnant, doing dishes and being your husband’s sex toy when he’s not fucking his secretary.
We’re just not weird enough to understand.
I think they are just authoritarians. They just want people to fall in line, follow orders, and shut up. Logical inconsistencies in their arguments or policies? Well fuck you logic is for nerds.
Don’t want to play ball well too bad you’re probably a witch anyway. Don’t think the Earth is the center of everything? Do not pass go and straight to jail!
I remember when I was a fundamentalist evangelical christian pro-life activist in my late preteens/early teens (picketing clinics was a favorite family activity), we used to have signs that said ‘Adoption: the loving option’.
Turns out, maybe they don’t care about adoption anymore. Just wombs.
A lot of these fucks like adoption, only because kids who’ve been bounced from foster to foster are way easier to indoctrinate into things. Just need to show them some attention.
Many are childless because they have been beholden to corporations and rich people far more than their parents were. They never had an opportunity to give their kids at least the life they had, so they opted not to have them. It’s not that they didn’t want them. They responded to the situation they were given.
I see these folks with generational wealth who have 16 children. It must be nice, but they’re just another side of the same problem.
Chiding people for being childless is possibly the most tone-deaf take ever, and even more so from rich, corpo pawns.
What do you expect from a political party that would rather sling poop than policy ideas (or concepts of ideas)?
Party?
Who would have thought that being terrible people would be a bad strategy.
Well, it worked 2016 right?
DoNT cAlL us DePloRAbles
Childless women are useless and people with degrees are worse people.
Lesson failed.
Can Trump’s aides run in his place? They seem way smarter.
Eh. I’m voting for Trump but certain people around him (like Laura Loomer) might literally have me voting for Kamala if they were to replace him.
Assuming you’re not trolling… Seriously, why?
Mostly the economy (specifically tax cuts and support for domestic oil and gas production), border security, national security and foreign affairs.
Because you want him to screw all those up again? I don’t get it.
Every single item on the list has improved under Biden, and literally were made worse under Trump.
I really can’t follow the “logic” of your reply.
Didn’t trump have IRS withholding changed to lower the amount going to taxes each paycheck? So the idiots saw an immediate “increase” in their paychecks thinking they got a tax break?
Yes and I dealt with those who saw their paychecks had$0 federal tax withheld. They did not prepare the IRS for this. We basically had to tell them there were changes to the w4 and to review it with their employer.
domestic oil and gas production
But oil and gas production is higher today than under Trump?
https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=61545
border security
But border arrests are 3x higher today than under Trump? https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/cbp-enforcement-statistics
Despite the rhetoric, we produced more oil and have had stronger borders over the past 4 years of Biden than the 4 years under Trump.
It’s fine that oil and gas production are higher now, I’m sure Trump will take that number even higher.
What I’d like to see when it comes to illegal immigration isn’t exactly more arrests, but a stronger border that’s harder to get through in the first place. And perhaps some deportations as well, although I tepidly prefer some qualified form of amnesty to deporting every single illegal immigrant.
I saw an interesting stat today that relates to this.
I’m in the EU, and this year for the first time my country spent more money buying Chinese solar panels than it did buying gas from the US, which has traditionally been a big national expense.
Putting it another way: the Chinese are selling us fishing poles, while Trump wants to keep selling us fish. Sure, we’ll keep buying fish for a while yet, but not for much longer.
I’m not even considering the climate and all that. It’s just a better economic investment.
But sure, you pump up those barrel numbers as high as you can, up until it comes crashing straight into the ground.
As for immigration, sure whatever. Kick out all the immigrants, but be honest and let me know how many people do you personally know that want to spend their life working the fields all day, or spend days at a time out at sea on a trawler, or mowing lawns for pennies on the dollar.
Because as a dev, I really enjoy my air conditioning and nice comfy office, and probably make more money than half a dozen of those pesky useless freeloaders combined, so you won’t be seeing me doing those jobs anytime soon.
I think exporting oil is good but I was thinking of domestic oil production for the primary purpose of domestic use
You mean like the bipartisan bill that Trump tanked because it might make the Dems look good?
Then why wasn’t oil production higher under Trump? He had 4 years.
As to border, the higher arrest list is proof the border is harder to get through now than it was under Trump. Illegal immigrants are being stopped.
As to negotiating, after 4 years why was Putin still in Ukraine? He did nothing. North Korea didn’t change policy at all. https://www.reuters.com/article/world/timeline-threats-and-stalemate-one-year-after-trump-last-met-north-koreas-kim-idUSKBN23X09P/
In China, Trump eroded Tawain’s safety and got nothing return. https://www.chinafile.com/reporting-opinion/viewpoint/trumps-incredibly-risky-taiwan-policy
He was an international embarrassment in most meetings:

You’re expecting facts to work on a Trump supporter? Good luck…

So he butchered all those things in his 4 years unless you’re already rich. Are you rich?
What specific policies of Trump’s appeal to you in those areas? Particularly national security and foreign affairs?
For national security, a lot of it is securing the southern border. It does have some ties to foreign affairs, part of that is Trump’s (relative) strength as a negotiator with world powers. He doesn’t get everything he wants all the time, but he is feared to a degree by many leaders, which is important when some of those leaders are our enemies, and he understands how to use leverage in circumstances such as negotiating the release of American hostages from foreign soil. I will say that Trump isn’t as good at negotiating as I would like, but at least he has a positive track record on that front, whereas Kamala Harris can’t even negotiate the support of the Teamsters lol
Feared by world leaders? They think Trump’s a joke. He’s literally Putin’s patsy.
If Trump actually cared about securing the border, why did he call Republicans in congress to vote against the border bill that they wrote? Biden was willing to sign it into law until they killed their own bill.
Because it hard arbitrary provisions that would have essentially allowed Joe Biden to pause the border restrictions at his discretion. The assumption was that he would sign the “we fixed the border” bill, then pause restrictions, and act like he did something, and the Republicans weren’t willing to give him that optic W.
I too Think that Someone who Steals US TOP SECRET SECURITY DOCUMENTS IN HIS BATHROOM and Bends Over Backwards to anyone who says His Hair Looks GOOD, EVEN if that Person is Actively an Enemy of the United States, is the PERFECT Person to Lead our National Security!
The bathroom or the garage…which way, western man?
I’m sorry, you think that Trump is feared by America’s enemies? My friend, your enemies are the people he spent the most time cosying up to. He openly admires Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin for being autocratic dictators. He pals around with Saudi princes. On the other hand he almost irreparably damaged US relations with its closest allies. The world is only “scared” of Trump in the sense that they’re scared of how damage his constant blundering will cause on the world stage.
Also, how is the southern border in any way relevant to national security? Mexico is your ally. Do you think that the cartels are preparing to invade Texas?
Trump’s (relative) strength as a negotiator
-Before the debate-
Trump’s campaign: Harris is going to try to bait you during the debate, don’t fall for it.
Harris’ campaign: we are going to bait Trump during the debate and he is going to fall for it.
Everyone: Harris is going to bait Trump.
-At the debate-
Trump: OMG LOOK AT ALL THIS BAIT! NOMNOMNOM!
Someone that predictable and easily manipulated is your “strong negotiator”?
What about the economy did he improve? Do you have the numbers to support that or is it more of a “feeling”?
🤣
Look, folks, a temporarily embarrassed billionaire. They’re the only people that benefit economically from Trump’s policies. Check your 2016 taxes paid divided by income and your 2023 taxes paid divided by income. The reason you paid more taxes in 2024 is Trump’s tax reform. Did you get more for your tax dollars now? I don’t feel like I did.
Eh. I’m voting for Trump
I mean… really?
It’s not a question of political views, I was a midwestern conservative growing up, back before the dixiecrats hijacked the party and drove it into a ditch,
Vote libertarian until they finally kick the trash out, sending a message matters more than anything else.
I have great respect for libertarianism, but it’s a little too extreme for me. There need to be federal institutions at some scale (even if they should be minimized, like Trump I too am a Federalist)
So I’m a McCain conservative, I love kinzinger, but mostly I hate Trump and consider him the antithesis to everything I care for.
Personally, this isn’t about ideology, he’s just trash, but that’s me.
That makes sense, I never liked McCain
Enjoy the downvotes.
I feast on the downvotes from this community lol, they ain’t new to me
Classic troll
I’m not a troll, although I do get that from people here who live in echo chambers
“I feast on the downvotes from this community lol”
And your a fucking liar as well. Go away troll.
Right? This place can be rough. I will take the downvotes, but I dislike the aggressive name calling when folks have a different point of view.
Is that ozempic hate monster being kissed by the old rapist that shits his pants and wasn’t shot in the ear?
Is that Sarah Huckabee Sanders?
The US is a net exporter of oil, and has been one for the last several years.
https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/oil-and-petroleum-products/imports-and-exports.php
Why do you want to increase production if you’re not going to export?

Maybe homeland security can hire you to hide under a bridge at the southern border and scare the immigrants away. Repeat after me who’s that rap tap tapping on my bridge…
