Some people say that there’s a woman to blame.

So back in 2009 when the Saints won the Superbowl, people were going nuts in New Orleans. There was some heavy tailgating going on. I think this was before the championship game. There’s this group of people who would pool their money together and go all out. They’d bring in a big flatbed trailer for an 18 wheeler, and use it as a stage under a large overpass near the Super Dome, and have a massive party with a live band. They hired my friend’s band to play. Jimmy Buffett walks up and offers to join them on stage for a song. It was really cool of him.

Man, what a bummer. Of all the celebrity deaths I would have expected this year Jimmy was not on my list…

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Jimmy Buffett, the singer-songwriter who drew millions of fans with his folksy tales of living and loving on tropical sandy beaches, frozen concoction in hand, died Friday night.

The song went on to inspire a brand, which included restaurants and resorts, a radio station, clothing and apparel, as well as food and drink items like beer, tequila, salad dressings and salsa.

Buffett was also nominated for two Grammy Awards, for “Hey Good Lookin’” — a cover of the Hank Williams classic — and “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” a duet with country superstar Alan Jackson.

Fellow country singer Jerry Jeff Walker first let him stay at his Coconut Grove home, and then they drove in a 1947 Packard to Key West, he told graduating students at the University of Miami, where he received an honorary doctorate in music in May 2015.

And Buffett guest-starred in the Tom Selleck show “Blue Bloods,” playing both himself and a virtual double who posed as the singer and scammed people.

He also dedicated some of his time to charity, starting the “Save he Manatee Club,” a non-profit that seeks to protect the large, docile marine mammals from boating injuries and harm by the actions of people.

The original article contains 715 words, the summary contains 201 words. Saved 72%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Surprising how many shitty people there are in this thread. We lost an awesome person. R.I.P. Jimmy Buffett, may your music and legacy live on.

Jimmy Buffet was in Epstein’s black book and wrote songs about being horny for 15 year old kids

When your own life is so miserable, you need to spew your trademark bile in response to an obituary for someone who was very much not an evil person. Maybe you’ll find peace someday, but probably not before you jettison your shitty attitude.
