I’m pissed about AnCap meaning anarcho-capitalist (feudalist, but too stupid to realize it), instead of Anti Capitalist.
Still can’t decide if arachno-capitalists would be better than anarcho-capitalists.
There’s a joke there about spinsters (women who supported themselves financially by making thread instead of by relying on a husband or their father), but I can’t make it cleanly.
There’s also this in German, which is a lot easier to make but feels a little cheaper: was weißt du über arachno-Kapitalisten? Die spinnen.
You could still claim AntCap
Which sounds like a nice hat for ants :))
We tried it. Didn’t catch on. Conservatives are just a helluva lot better at labeling.
If “pro” is the opposite of “con”, then what is the opposite of “progress”?
Regress
Congress
Amish.
And that’s why conservatives can’t make art, they’re all con artists
Fuckin’ neocons 🖕
Came here to mention “neocon”. 25 years ago “con” was heard a lot for “conservative”.
Pro is short for progressive…
Cat is short for catholic, though they are already cat-holics so 🤷

Etymology 10 (this word has got a ton of meanings)
I think in countries that have a party called the Conservative Party, “CON” is actually a common abbreviation? I seem to remember seeing that at least in relation to the UK.
So party members are called conmen?
