Don’t I remember Shaun falling deep into blockchain psychosis at one point? Any idea if he’s recovered from that?
I could be misremembering, but I want to say there was some reason why basically started boycotting him. I hadn’t thought about him in years until this post came along.
Shaun has never said anything pro blockchain on youtube (very certain) or twitch (that I’ve seen). The guy is however a legendary shit poster on twitter (before he left) and bluesky, so it’s possible you misinterpreted something very sarcastic?
My memory is that it was kindof “common knowledge” on /r/breadtube for a good while. That was years ago, though. But my research on the topic more recently has found nothing. (Except other people saying he’s a legendary shit poster on Twitter. I don’t think that’s what I’m remembering, though.) 🤷 Who knows at this point. I might just give him another chance and pretend I never heard anything bad about him in the first place until I find out otherwise.
I’ve been following Shaun for years on YouTube and Bluesky and I have no idea where you got that from. Are you confusing him with someone else maybe?
I’ve followed him for quite a while and I do not recall that being the case. I don’t really follow people on social media though, so if it was something posted on Twitter or Instagram or something like that I would have been unaware of the entire time. If you end up remembering what it was, feel free to let me know.

Do you mean the thumbnail? He has been using this image for over 4 years now in his videos (to show when he is talking), so it precedes the ai aesthetic.
