“Roadside picnic” is a good book about similar thing. Aliens land on earth and leave bunch of crap behind. People try to figure out what it is but it’s so beyond them it’s like caveman trying to analyze microcontrollers.

It’s Jacob Knowles if anybody wants to look it up. He’s a commercial fisherman in Maine, and the law says you have to toss back breeding lobsters, so he takes a bit of time to clean off the barnacles to help with survival rates.

There’s an abductee account from the 70s or 80s where a logger claims he saw a craft when he was out in the woods and when he approached it, it blasted him back with some kind of energy blast. He disappeared for a few days and when he showed up again he claimed that aliens abducted him and repaired any damage they did to him and just dropped him back off. Dont think he got a steak dinner out of it but the whole account was interesting to me and corroborated by a few of his coworkers he was with when it happened.
