OpenAI has nothing. There are no new tech breakthroughs and the organization is still hemorrhaging cash by the billions. Something they could brand “GPT-5” was due mid-2024. How to placate the inve…

Is the hype already declining, when they are trying everything to monetize, no matter how ridiculous?

At least this will somewhat mitigate the unfettered access to this technology.

You probably mean this tongue-in-cheek, but…

      https://finance.yahoo.com/news/openai-valued-157-billion-isnt-140006588.html

      https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/4914320-hurricane-helene-damage-estimates/

The market cap of OpenAI and total estimated damage of Helene…are actually comparble.

If OpenAI went to 0, that would be roughly as much first order financial damage as Helene.

Ed Zitron called it last year. He said that one of the signs of the beginning of the AI implosion would be raising prices.

Any price increases by OpenAI or Anthropic: If they start needing to make more money, they could get desperate. This will be a sign their unit economics are no longer working out with their investors.
