6816·4 months agoThis is a great point. There are some people who just will never vote for a candidate if they feel that the person supports genocide, even if it means their livelihood will be impacted! I guess we should factor those voters in when we select candidates. Would hate to lose again!

Check out Tracker Control https://trackercontrol.org/

You might want to take another look at “I don’t care about cookies.” IIUC in a lot of cases it auto-accepts. If you want a tool to auto-reject, try Consent-o-matic

29·4 months agoThe weirdest part to me: this comes after the EU determined that Apple’s locked store is too restrictive, and Apple agreed to allow 3rd party stores. Why the hell would Android go in the opposite direction? Will this put them in violation of the same EU regulation?

12·4 months agoAFAIK this is the only evidence: a claim by a marketing company that they’re actually doing it. However, they have some reason to lie about this, bc it makes them sound all-knowing and powerful to their clients.

1·4 months agoI think we’re in agreement that the police/legal system should be clamping down on these speeders. I certainly share your confusion here re: why they’re allowed to continue doing this.
But, as we’re both seeing, the police aren’t doing their jobs, and these guys are allowed to continue menacing our streets. This happens against a general backdrop where drivers are regularly prioritized over everyone else-- to the point that that can literally kill someone and still walk. In that environment, what are we supposed to do? I think this method – highlighting that we’re watching, that the police could stop this today by simply doing their jobs-- is one of the democratic tools at our disposal.

But if he’s not logged in (because he doesn’t have an account) and he’s using a VPN (and maybe changing every time) then frequency shouldn’t matter bc Proton wouldn’t know it’s the same person
