  • Indeed. If you had you own space you it would be a game changer. Your family situation sounds tough but if moving out is an option i think it could really help.

That co-worker should do better. No excuse starting an altercation over words. Maybe you’d feel comfortable in neurodivergent communities where people are more understanding and patient. Unfortunately we do need other people but i totally get the feeling of wanting to withdraw.

No worries! It reminds me of a situation i was in a few years ago. I’m doing a lot better now. I really hope you’ll be able to say the same. It sounds like you have some ideas of what you want which is a good place to start. I wish you all the best.

  • Aw yeah work “friends” are atrocious. In that case perhaps you can focus on finding something that brings you joy. Can be anything in the world. Then find some type of community who share the same joy. It will be much easier to find, see, and hold on to friends.

Please do look after your health if you can. I would hate for circumstances to change but be unable to take advantage due to preventable issues.

  • Damn, that really does sound like a tough situation. You deserve better.

You sound like a caring person who is working extremely hard to provide for their family. Working a demanding job like that and coming home to a hostile environment is so hard. There’s no respite. There’s no peace.

Online interaction is weird. It’s much harder to understand intent through text than through speech. Do you have irl friends? Could you meet people irl through hobbies/shared interests?

We all die in the end. Living in suffering waiting for it to happen is not a pleasant way to be. Fuck what other people think. If you worked this hard for yourself i think you could achieve a lot. Obviously your situation sounds tough to break free from but you can do it. Focus on any small thing that brings true happiness and go from there.

  • Hmmm very bizarre that none of those options are working for you. Those should be extremely secure ways of browsing the web.

Just to confirm, are you logging in to anything? Youtube and google can track you anywhere if you sign in to an account.

When you restart Tor and visit youtube, it should be asking you about cookies again. I make a habit of declining everything anyway.

Perhaps your Google access point is the culprit but it would have to be breaking encryption to affect your connection so surely not?

I’d recommend getting your hands on some bitcoin. Then you can convert it to monero and pay for a vpn that way. A secure vpn and librewolf should be enough to feel like you’re not being tracked.

  • I can believe it. British media are savage and will hound a person to death (recently Jason Arday) if it will get them clicks. Evidence and truth no longer matter. If the scandel is selling they’ll squeeze it for all they can.

Lucy Letby was the subject of a witchhunt. The media had already decided she was a monster before the trial started and the case is full of personal biases. With the public whipped in to a frenzy, of course the jury is going to find her guilty.

Truly the families deserve better. The NHS needs more funding. Preferrably taken for the profits of media organisations.

  • I don’t agree. I think the Israeli’s needed breathing room to move forward with the Greater Israel project. The US was brought in to disrupt the Iranian support of Hamas. It was never about winning. It’s about providing military assistance to Israel for colonisation of the Middle East.

@Tango@piefed.ca makes a lot of good points. The EU is currently funneling billions into the Eastern front. If the US was to set up shop in Greenland. Could the EU meaningfully push back. They are so entwined with the US any type of war would be a disaster, trade or otherwise.

If the US seriously invades Greenland there’s not a lot Europe can do. Almost all EU tech infrastructure relies on US companies. They’d be fucked.

Strap in. It’s about to get even worse.

  • As othets have mentioned, i believe it’s more important to have a clear understanding of what your personal values and beliefs are. Then search for organisations that align with your beliefs.

For example, some of my values are fairness, honesty, justice, equality and cooperation. I’m not sure if you heard about the recent Mullvad controversy. (The CEO made a large donation to political party and now they have enough funds to be relevent). The party is neither left or right and actually have good socialist policies including a 30 work week. However, they also push ‘national remigration’ i.e ethnic cleansing, removal of all coloured immigrants from the country, racial segregation, you get the idea.

This fundementally goes against my beliefs in equality and cooperation so i could never vote for them in good conscious. I have also stopped my subscription as i no longer want to support a CEO who funds such things.

It is up to you to decide what to believe in and what red lines you draw. Every organisation is susceptible to corruption. I would advise that your principles take priority over party allegiance.

If one truly believes all humans are equal. They should agree that the US regime must end.

  • The world needs more people like you! Huge thanks for all the work you’re doing!

I agree with your assessment. Jolla is a for-profit company and the time will come when they sacrifice privacy and openness and sell their customers to the highest bidder.

We cannot rely on android forever. PostmarketOS looks very exciting. Looking forward to seeing it grow. Keep up the good work!
