I had the SE for 2 years, now I have upgraded to series 9. Wanted the AOD and the qwerty keyboard.
Comparing the series 8 and 9, there’s not much difference except for on device siri and tap gesture, which I think are not major changes.
If you’re planning to use the watch for long then go with the series 9 for extended updates. Changing apple watch every year is not recommended as per my experience.
