Am I the only person who gets embarrassed by osmosis whenever one of these things is around? It’s not even my vehicle and I am still embarrassed by it.

PS: So many of these ridiculous things around me ATM.

I wanted one back before we knew what they looked like.

I still wanted it after based on specs and price once it was announced.

When it came out smaller, less range, twice the price, and slathered in the stink of everything musk has done since 2019, I can’t help but shake my head in disappointment every time I see one. Absolute disaster compared to what could have been.

I was gonna ask the same thing. I don’t think we’re dealing with a reasonable individual here lol

Yeah, and it’s odd, the little changes they had to do to make the concept into a production model took a vehicle that was right on the cusp of being too stupid to be cool (couldn’t blame someone who thought it already fell on the wrong side) and pushed it straight into rusty Pontiaz Aztek territory.

A safety bumper here, a road-suspension height there, add a few dashes of munufacturable glass and some cost cutting, and it’s just… frumpy. Even apart from Elon revealing the true scope of his crazy to the world, this is a miss. I also assume most concept photos avoided the “I’m bored now let’s finish it and go home!” rear angles of the design.

I saw one for the first time ever recently and it looks even worse in person than in pictures. I have still, mercifully, only ever seen one.

I never had to see one IRL until yesterday, when I saw two in about 3 minutes. I was surprised at how much more dangerous and stupid they look in person.

A middle finger might imply that you have “haters” who are jealous of and you have the satisfaction that you are “pissing people off”.

A thumbs-down implies that people think you’re a fukkin’ loser, with no other implications.

In my opinion your comment is spot on.

I still like to imagine roman times. Thumbs down at the driver in their colossal pedestrian death machine.

Historians are not really sure though in which direction the thumb should point for the kill, but certainly keep it away from the frunk.

      Edit: English grammar is hard.

A thumbs down is also non-aggressive. The middle finger is escalating and can be considered provocation. Thumbs down is just an expression of disapproval. It’s less inflammatory and cuts deeper.

My wife and I both use the “thumbs down” method. It’s funniest when we’re both doing it to some ass-hat, while riding together.

It often de-escalates the person though, as if they don’t know how to respond. They usually just make angry gestures and mutter (probably obscenities) to themselves, but their rage usually chills out a bit. It’s almost like you make them aware of how childish they’re acting

This was the muggiest vehicle I could afford, would you like it if people made fun of your automobile?

That car is even more embarrassing than someone taking a picture of themselves giving a thumbs down.

Yea, but I feel like if I give the annoying local church who always sets up a forced-birth protest spot on the side of the road a thumbs down instead of a flip off when I pass them they might think I’m agreeing with them or something

When someone cuts me off in traffic these days I just give them a big thumbs up.
