The 1920s was "a long time ago" and the Andromeda galaxy is "a galaxy far, far away." Maybe the original trilogy took place 100 years ago in the next galaxy over. - eviltoast

    What will really bake your noodle is that it takes time for light to reach us. We are seeing light that anywhere from a few minutes to a few billion years old.
