Ohio GOP Gov. DeWine says 'at least 33' bomb threats prompt Springfield to begin daily school sweeps - eviltoast

Ohio state police will conduct daily sweeps of schools in Springfieldafter authorities have been forced to investigate “at least 33” bomb threats that led to evacuations and temporary building closures, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said Monday.

“We want to make sure, as school continues this week in Springfield, that parents have confidence that the school is in fact safe,” the Republican governor said at a press conference.

Each bomb threat has been a hoax without “any validity at all,” DeWine said.

And he still won’t denounce Trump and Vance for spreading that lie.

    Party before country, I guess…

Why is this happening? Who the hell is calling in mass bomb threats? It’s not even exam time.

      Why is it happening?

Do you think it might have to do with one of the two main candidates for president, the one who used to be president, telling people that Haitians are “eating the dogs” in Springfield in a debate broadcast on all TV networks and livestreamed on multiple platforms?

How does that translate into calling in bomb threats at schools though?

Is there some rumor that Springfield schools are teaching DEI wokeness and providing bottom surgery to Haitian children?

You really don’t understand how such a public racist statement would spur violent Nazis into action? In a country where violent Nazis are constantly doing violent things? Did you forget the violent coup that happened just because this same guy said that the election was a fraud? Do you think those same people would just sit idly by when Trump is claiming that people released from insane asylums in other countries are eating people’s pets? Those “insane” people have kids at those schools. I’m guessing the Nazis would call some of them “anchor babies.”

I think you’ve read more into it than the Nazis have (as they are typically too dumb to read). Things are very black and white for these people. “Immigrants is bad. Springfield is immigrants. Springfield is bad.” That’s as far as the thinking goes. Then lazy Neo-Nazis that have nothing to do with the situation do whatever they can to “hurt” the “bad people” and a very easy way to do that is to call in bomb threats. And since they are not just stupid but also unoriginal and they already heard someone else called in a bomb threat…I guess that’s what we’re doing now…

That’s according to the republican governor.

Not saying it’s wrong, but he does have an incentive to divert attention to his insane base. Also it’s not uncommon to conceal where the call is coming from.

If i had to live under constant fear of getting murdered by some depressed student in a mass shooting, i would also start making up crazy shit to get out of school by any means necessary.

I mean the first half about having to live in fear is factually correct, so no crayons required. The second part is kinda far fetched but im sure it has happened. Also kids are fucking stupid and do shit like pull fire alarms for fun all the time. There doesnt even need to be a reason for people to call in a fake bomb threat. They might just be bored.

This has nothing to do with scared students. This is the result of rhetoric from Trump and Vance about the large Haitian population in Springfield. Violent right-wingers are acting upon their dear leader’s words.
