Women working in Antarctica say they were left to fend for themselves against sexual harassers - eviltoast

The National Science Foundation, the federal agency that oversees the U.S. Antarctic Program, published a report in 2022 in which 59% of women said they’d experienced harassment or assault while on the ice, and 72% of women said such behavior was a problem in Antarctica.

But the problem goes beyond the harassment, The Associated Press found. In reviewing court records and internal communications, and in interviews with more than a dozen current and former employees, the AP uncovered a pattern of women who said their claims of harassment or assault were minimized by their employers, often leading to them or others being put in further danger.

That’s not what I asked for. I asked for a comparison with the U.S… I knew you’d be dishonest, which is part of the reason I’m blocking you.

If I were a woman in the uk and I was told I’m not allowed to use a gun to protect myself from a rapist because it happens less than in the US, that’s not going to make me feel any better. It still happens.

If what’s the case? If my personal feelings on the matter are the case? They are the case, it makes no difference that there’s not a big push in the uk for women to have guns, I feel this way because I feel this way.

Now you, like the other person, are just being dishonest. What I said was clear. I’m not playing this game with you.

            In THAT case.
