15 month old likes rhythmical music, especially metal. Today we stopped and watched while road workers were fixing the road with big machines. Oneachine tried to shake off some dirt which was stuck and was banging against it in a 4 to the floor beat so my little one started headbanging to it.

Me: “Why is there cinnamon all over your pants?”

Him: “Because I’m 12 and I had a cinnamon roll.”

My daughters’ grandmothers go by “Mimi” and “Baba.” Mimi has been trying hard to get my 1yo to say her name, without success. Last night, during a FaceTime with Mimi, my 1yo decided to look right at the screen and say, for the very first time, “Baba!”

I had a good laugh at that.

Last night my 3 year old casually gets out of her chair after eating a snack, and in the most nonchalant manner starts walking towards the bathroom saying, “I’m all done. I need to go poop.” Got a laugh out of us.

We just adopted a dog, and my 6yo son wanted to hold the leash on a walk. I told him if he wants to hold the leash than he is responsible for picking up the poo if he makes any. The dog pooped, my son grumped about having to pick it up, and was all “why do I have to do it?”.

Points for him, he powered through and picked it up. About a minute later he said to me “actually dad, I kinda liked picking it up!”. Now he wants to pick up the poo every time even if he isn’t the one holding the leash.

    Such a weird kid.

My son makes eye contact with me, smiles, touches his diaper, and says “Ota!” (His word for ‘Uh oh!’)
