The Wurkkos TS11 in orange has one big problem: The inside of the head is orange as well. This causes an orange spill, as you can see in this image:
Today I noticed that the bezel isn’t glued. So I quickly disassembled it, cut a piece of aluminum tape into the right shape and covered the inside of the head with it.
There’s still some orange from the outside of the bezel, but that can be fixed with a black marker or a 3D printed insert.
Hey Sammy, good to see you over here! Cool mod too. I think I saw something similar on a green DM11
Thanks, I try to be here whenever the federation is working. Saw your comment just now because it wasn’t pushed to my instance…
Yeah, the hanklight was the inspiration for my mod.

Nice! Maybe you could try GITD tape to give your light a built-in locator.
For some reason I don’t see this post on c/flashlight. I came across it elsewhere by accident. Any idea?
Using gitd tape would just cause another tint in the beam. It has aux LEDs, that’s enough locator for me.
Not sure why you don’t see the post. I checked right after posting it and it was already pushed to lemmy.world.
Oh, nice about the aux led locators. Hank lights were the only ones I knew of with that feature, but as it is supported by mainline Anduril, I guess it makes sense that other lights now have it too.
It is weird about the post. It showed up after a while, but is now gone again. I will open a ticket when I’m at an online computer. Right now I’m just on a phone with very crappy internet.
Uhm… There are so many other flashlights with aux LEDs. Sofirn, Wurkkos, Fireflies, Mateminco, just as an example.
Cool I’ll look into those. I solved the missing post mystery. It was an error on my profile settings, now fixed.
You did a really clean job with that tape. Nice!
Nice job! I used GITD tape to do this on my green D4K, white tape with blue glow, and it brought Duv down .0010. I’ll have to snag some aluminum tape for some other lights!
Any chance you can measure the diameter of the driver?
It’s 20mm.
Awesome, thanks!
Oh wow, that’s simple but does give a good improvement. Something to be aware of!
