Former U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman dies at 82, says family - eviltoast

I hated him. A lot. And yet, if he were vice president, the world would probably be in a much better place. As long as he never got past that position.

After living a nice long life on government-funded healthcare, that he continued to have access to after leaving office, despite being the primary force behind denying the people of the United States access to similar care when he opposed the inclusion of the public option in the ACA.

There are so many reasons he was an utter piece of shit. We could also go into his fanatical support for Israel, which made a lot of the rest of us Jews look bad by association since people thought of him when they thought of “Jewish politician.”

One week ago he penned an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal saying Chuck Schumer made a horrendous act in saying Netanyahu was an obstacle to peace. Evil right to the end and, like the Christian right, publicly claiming to be the true representative of his religion.

Died on top dollar care provided by the state after a career who’s final act was spent spitefully witholding that care from millions.

Him and his geriatric kindred spirits will not be missed when enough of them are gone for real change to be made.

Hey! I got a great idea! Why don’t we elect old ass people to be president in this next election!? Right? Right?

I mean we buy puppies, we know they only last 14 years, so we’re buying a small tragedy, but we still do it. Why not go to the salvation army for dogs and buy a 14 year old dog every year! Nothing to lose, just raw feelings and emotions gone wild 😜🐄!

Come to think of it, it’s a great option even for judges. And you don’t have to worry about re election shit, cuz that would be 4 years later, it won’t happen!

With judges we pick 60 years old farts for the lower courts and then let them ascend every 10 years. By the time they become supremes, we’re talking real survivorship. Maybe they fuck up a couple of things for us, then the next month we come in with a whole bunch of new incumbents.

There is an argument to be made for the political experience that comes with age, but it’s become ridiculous. In general, it’s probably best not to elect the very young or the very old to national positions. Obviously there are exceptions such as AOC or Bernie Sanders, but I think it should be a thing to avoid overall.

Saying that the difference between VP and President with both Bush/Chenney and Biden in recent history is a thing is… cute.
