Sleep Tracking/Health App recommendations - eviltoast

Looking for recommendations for a sleep app on iOS, I used one on android quite some time back but looking to get good suggestions from people here using some actively.

Specifically would like something that can wake you up at the best time by tracking your sleep cycle time and whatnot. Hopefully not needing a watch of any kind as well.

I realize you don’t want a watch, and I empathize as I resisted for years. Sleep and exercise were the two reasons I changed my mind and it’s been worth it.

    Autosleep and AutoWake

Read more about the apps here, but Autosleep works impressively well at gauging your sleep.

Oddly enough the reviews for autowake are horrible but autosleep is universally praised. Also seems autosleep includes some sort of alarm anyway.

Would for sure prefer not to go the watch route but this looks like the only premium one time purchase app and maybe I’ll end up enjoying it. Will see how often watches go on sale Thanks!

Honestly I find that the plain old health app does a fine job tracking sleep compared to AutoSleep but my wife uses that as gospel. I don’t like the discrepancy between the two personally and just go with what the health app says. I do like AutoSleep visualizations though.

I resisted the watch for a long time too and got my first in may and can’t believe I held out so long.

Seems nice but subscription stuff really has plagued so many things. Hoping to own something for a long time, but I’ll keep this as a backup Ty!

I used it for years and years. I loved the insights it gave. To bad I cant get info from the health app into sleep cycle now that I use the built in tracker in the watch instead.

Is the health app really not enough? I also had a basic Garmin watch for a time which gave some pretty good info

Beddit seems to have gone under. I stumbled on their product in clearance section at BestBuy a couple years back; super excited for what appeared to be a simple and elegant solution; only to discover their app haven’t been updated for years.

The built in health app has the automatic wake up for me, but that’s with an Apple Watch, so maybe it’s exclusive to that

The Apple Health program does have an alarm in it but it doesn’t track sleep quality to determine its time limit. With an Apple Watch, the alarm can display on the watch, even silently with haptics. I tried using AutoWake and AutoSleep and felt that both were too feature-heavy and overwhelming in information density to be useful for my simple needs.
