Do you see a future in technology related to Aquaponics and Aquaculture farms? Will this tech be implemented in AES countries? - eviltoast

Recently, I have been very interested in this tech and the amount of production that can be done in a small piece of land compared to ranching. Wanted to know your thoughts.

    I’ve done some aquaponics.

It’s not great for household-scale. It requires a certain amount of size and professionalism. Small systems are too vulnerable to water quality issues and don’t have the output to justify getting someone well-trained and buying equipment like sensors.

I say this because people will spread the opposite information and it’s wrong. I’m for seeing aquaponics systems in/near cities with at least 3000 holes per system.

Aquaculture is a bit different. The Vietnamese have been using ponds as gardens for millenia and do it very expertly.

Thanks for your comment! This tech makes me feel hopeful due to the growing need for local production to face global warming but sadly it needs plenty of money to be set properly. I am still studying more about this and hopefully I may have something set in the near future.

It’s true it’s got good qualities when done right, that’s not hype. Saves water, prevents runoff, etc.

Fitting it into the economy in the right scale and market niche is the question, but I’m sure it’ll be part of the mix.
