Being unscrupulous with how things are being framed to you when it involves something you find weird is what makes people assume you are a bigot, not that you have “different views”. A teacher that tells a student “it’s ok to dress how you feel most comfortable” is different from a teacher that tells a student “you ought to dress in girls clothing”. And if a student then says “my mom and dad will punish me if I don’t wear boys clothes”, not only should they, but a teacher is required by law to report that interaction to CPS.
We wouldn’t need to teach students about gender if parents weren’t actively shaming or punishing their kids in order to force them to perform their sex in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable. That you think of male genitalia when you see a kid dressed in boys clothes is not a problem with the teacher sexualizing them, it’s a problem with you sexualizing them.
