If any East Coast lemmings want to try them and report back, I’d be interested to hear

The Poulette is available now through March at Whole Foods stores in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey for $6 per bag. Not in one of those states? Row 7 has plenty more coming.

When there’s some locally, I’m going to get a bag and try some. And if they’re good, I’m going to propagate the ones that are left and grow my own.

With any raw potato, you should be able to grow your own. Simply bury a potato in some decent ground, water it properly, and it will sprout, growing a plant that increases the size of the original potato and also grows more potatoes along its roots.

If you want to be extra-productive about it, you can cut the first potato up into sections – every ‘eye’ on the potato can sprout into a new plant. This takes a little extra care to make sure the exposed cut surfaces of the potato don’t rot, though.
