Karoline Leavitt. She was one of the people left behind on Air Force One a few months ago when there was a threat and Trump ducked out the back of the plane hidden in a food truck to board a nearby military helicopter with his other blonde, making Air Force One a decoy target.
I think she’d only been back to work from maternity leave for maybe a month at this point. But less than 48 hours after the news came out that Trump was never even on the plane and had effectively left her and the rest of the press pool to be shot down in his stead, she suddenly decided she needed to spend more time with her family.
I only remember it this well because it’s such a heartwarming face-eating leopard story it brings a smirk to my face every time I think of it.

For myself – and I have nothing to back this, it’s just my personal opinion – it’s because they saw first hand the extent to which Trump is controlled by Putin and possibly even by what specific blackmail, and in a way that demonstrated just how absolutely Putin has zero esteem for anyone else, including Trump himself, and seeing it in person made them afraid.
Then they came home and drank more orange koolaid and felt better about it the more it receded into the rear-view mirror.
But that’s just my take.
