    Imaging eating 25% less calories. There was a subreddit for calories in calories out.

      CICO is not as simple as it sounds when people suggest it. Individuals don’t absorb or expend calories the way that laboratory testing suggests people as a whole do. Nobody’s breaking the laws of thermodynamics, but accurately testing your calorie absorption requires an elimination diet and a lot of patience. CO is easier, but still depends on your body.

        calorie intake isn’t even about eating healthier, you can totally eat hamburgers, just not 20 of them in a week

        sadly we evolved to gobble up as many calories as we can to get through rough times where there isn’t much food. Unfortunately we developed into a society where there is always food, and evolution hasn’t caught up. The primal desire to eat can be overwhelmingly strong, it’s different from person to person. I don’t stock up on snacks because of exactly this reason, but it still takes a lot of effort to not constantly overeat. Eating is just so good! Obesity is not necessarily a discipline issue, our biology is working against us
