Inside sources in the GOP are seriously peeved that President Donald Trump and his family can’t stop concentrating on enriching themselves long enough to get Republicans through the November midterms.
Trump and Republicans are at risk in the upcoming midterm elections, due in no small part to regret from his own supporters, and even many Republicans who continue supporting him feel as if they are “walking the plank” on his behalf. Yet according to a recent report, Trump continues to focus on money-making projects instead of shoring up support from American voters — a fact that is worrying many of his fellow Republican politicians.

Cruelty is the point for Trump and many Republicans. And even if many GOP had initially thought they could control Trump, they are sorely mistaken. They played fire and got burned. FAFO. People never learned from history when they thought an imbecilic fascist figure could be “controlled” by conservatives, from Hitler to Mussolini.

The idea is that Trump’s corruption is SO obvious that the GOP is afraid they’ll get whipped in the midterms. Trump is certainly attacking the election system hard enough to show he agrees on that part at least, if not the idea of being less greedy.
That’s plausible.
They only look out for themselves.
Greed is an illness like any other, and will not be corrected through begging like any other. We built a system that rewards and demands the darkest of the darkest, and are surprised when the worst persists.
He doesn’t care what he has. He cares that anyone else has anything else.

the extra funny part of this: everyone who can even afford to be in the same room as Trump on any kind of regular basis, enough to tell him “stop grifting so much”, is also more rich than they have any right to be, I can guarantee it.
Affordability has nothing to do with ones willingness to be in the same room as trump.
there are plenty of poor people that love trump but cannot afford to actually be in his social orbit, I’m talking about the people this article is actually talking about, the “panicked GOP insiders” who are likely also obscenely rich and prominent republicans.
Not for those people, but the president won’t be in the same room as the poors without a selfish reason, you better believe it. They have nothing but contempt for their supporters that aren’t rich.
