Boy held by Hamas ‘forced to watch videos of 7 October attacks’ - eviltoast

“Every time a child cried, they would threaten him with a weapon to shut him up.”

She added: “I wanted to believe that Eitan would be well treated. Apparently not. Those people are monsters.”

Eitan’s whole family, including his mother and two sisters, aged 10 and 20 months, were abducted on what some in Israel now refer to as “Black Saturday”.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

A 12-year-old boy who was held hostage in Gaza for 52 days was forced in captivity to watch videos of the 7 October atrocities, his aunt has claimed.

The schoolboy was pictured being hugged by his mother, Batsheva, on Monday night, hours after he was released as part of a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

The account came as released hostages began detailing their time in captivity and the two sides agreed to extend the existing ceasefire by two days.

In one of the first interviews with a freed hostage, Munder told Israel’s Channel 13 television that initially they ate “chicken with rice, all sorts of canned food and cheese”.

Two Israeli TV stations, Channels 12 and 13, reported that Hamas’ leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, visited the hostages in a tunnel and assured them they would not be harmed, according to the Associated Press.

Hamas announced on Monday it had agreed to extend the four-day truce, after the intervention of Qatar and Egypt, the principal mediators for the initial agreement.

The original article contains 742 words, the summary contains 172 words. Saved 77%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Key takeaway, “according to family member.”

The israelis have not been the most trustworthy source of information on conflicts in the middle east, just saying.

If the media was directly allowed to speak to the hostages after the release this might have been believable. The iron grip that israel has now put on their media however, indicates they are not allowing a repeat of the first hostage released that said she was treated well. This statement was not even made by a hostage but by a family member.

Is this article the truth? Were they forced to watch 7Oct videos or did a Hamas guys just put on the TV? Did this even happen? Is this bad translation such as the 80 year old woman that was “hit with sticks” in translation but in reality it was the sticks of the field that hit her?

It’s sad that israel has lied so much in this conflict about beheaded babies, command centers under hospitals and much more. Now it’s impossible to believe anything that is vetted by their media.

The physical condition of the released hostages indicates they were not mistreated. As for the mental stuff, it’s possible for the IDF to make up whatever they want.

How many Palestinians were forced to watch their loved ones bombed by the Israeli government?

Unfortunately we live in a world where more than one thing is fucked up at the same time. This poor boy’s suffering doesn’t lessen the suffering of the Palestinians, it only adds to the tragedy.

You could’ve said this is fucked up and separated Palestinians from Hamas, but you had to flip it into an attack on Israel.

You can say Hamas is fucked up without mentioning Israel.

I can also say Israel is fucked up because they’re the ones with a functioning government yet continue to pursue apartheid.

          a functioning government

Tell me you know nothing about Israeli politics without saying you know nothing about Israeli politics (the country is run by a bunch of literal criminals. Do they care about the Palestinians? No. But do they care about the Israelis who aren’t directly related to them, and even then not always? Also no. If someone told you “Israel the only democracy in the middle east” you’d call bullshit, and you’d be right, so don’t pull out a “functioning government” when it’s convenient. they are run by fascists, standing up to those in power is becoming harder and harder, just look at the last few elections and the reactions to protests)

most people forget that netty is an “intelligent trump” with the added effect of being that in a parliamentary system, which means alliances by subject can be made and sustain netty in power by further destroying israel from the inside.

mark my words, nothing hamas can do will hurt israelies as much as netty being in power. also expect the voter dissatisfaction with netty to go to the far-right israeli parties, which will keep netty in power as a scapegoat thus further consolidating the fact that israel is currently governed by far-right lunatics, and there is nothing sane israelis can do about it.

Yeah, but Saddam harbors Al-Queda and has mobile anthrax trucks. Also, WMD’s. We have to attack before he attacks us.

Don’t mind the downvotes. History will prove you right, while those supporting this ethnic -cleansing will forget they voted for Bush.

I dont think most people support ethnic cleansing in all honestly even the people who want to completely dissolve Israel (even though it would most likely lead to an exodus of jews).
