Quick question, what causes the battery to degrade like that? My battery has 400 cycles and it’s still at 100% battery health.

My m1 pro has degraded to 96% after barely 6 months of use, i suppose keeping it plugged in for hours or days contributes to the cause.
However i have noticed that the newer the MacBook, the shorter the lifespan, and more delicate the battery is. Regardless of a 2012 MacBook or 2022, the battery makes Apple money… just as every other part

One day you’ll reset it and see the battery go down instantly. Sometimes the system doesn’t report the right battery health.
