Added them to old games that didn’t have them before? What would be the point in that? Once it’s cracked, the toothpaste can’t be put back in the tube.

I think steam support does offer refunds in those instances where the terms of sale were changed on you when mentioned in a ticket (see Helldivers and newer COD games)

I remember hearing this about the Monster Hunter games a few years ago, so it isn’t surprising to hear it holds true for their other franchises, as well. That said, it would be nice if they focused a bit more resources on optimizing the games for their new primary platform.

What’s the age of the game? 75-90% discounts on steam aren’t uncommon for games more than 5-10 years old.
Yeah it’s veeeery flawed logic for steam. Most people don’t buy games unless they’re on sale, and the only way to make the sales attractive over a long time is to keep raising the discount

And when you finally can get the games at a good value, you snub your nose, assuming something has to be wrong with it to be that cheap? You’re doing a ton of mental gymnastics for no reason.
Publishers often give steep discounts on the older games in a property to generate hype and sales before a new entry is released.
I never played dead rising when it originally came out. I picked up the first one for 95% off when the remake came out. It ended up being one of my favorite games. If I used your logic, I’d overspend on everything, and I’d never find games I missed like that.
