The posts I see regarding the genocide in Sudan are always void of comments. Why isn’t there the same anti genocide energy that Palestine (deservedly) gets?

They never make a statement supporting Ukraine. The posts about the Russian invasion or the genocide in Sudan are extremely empty on lemmy in general. The sad reality is that the the Palestinian genocide gets used by bad faith actors who don’t care about people dying and only about how it helps sway political opinions.
What is worse is that Russia and Israel cooperate, just like Israel and their beloved China.
Americans specifically are more outspoken about the genocide in Gaza because our government is directly funding the Israeli government with weapons and vehicles, and the Israeli military is carrying out the genocide. From what I saw of the Darfur genocide, it is mostly rebel groups doing it and not the Sudanese armed forces (which I might be entirely wrong about, I searched for some info but it was pretty cursory)
Sudan genocide is very largely supported by the Russian Federation.
I don’t know a lot about Sudan but I think part of the focus on Palestine is the near universal support for Israel from western industrialized nations. There doesn’t seem to be the same situation with Sudan.

Its always which is pollitically expedient. These people have weaponized talking about it to the point i just shut off when they start. Way to build empathy for the cause.
