People on Reddit keep saying that Hamas killed people who were raving and stuff. Where does this claim came from? Does anybody have any news about that? - eviltoast

I tried to aggregate the sources I could find at the time. I haven’t seen much beyond those, but I haven’t looked deeply.

    What I think:

    • The festival couldn’t have been an actual target, it was moved 2 days before.
    • Iof Gaza Division was stationed very close by, and was arguably the main target of the operation.
    • The security guards and tank are pretty likely to have caught civilians in the crossfire.
    • There was an article shared recently that seemed to point towards iof helicopters shooting into running crowds at the same time.

At least half of the casualties are also security personnel per a list of names released by the Israeli government. The number has also since been revised down to 1200 from 1400.
