They were talking about in on NPR today. Apparently the front of the building previously had gold columns and he had them painted over white when he renamed it, absolutely baffling. Maybe it didn’t look cheap enough.
Trump has a long history of ruining buildings. I remember reading how he purchased a building in New York that had some unique Art Deco installations.
Some people (it was a museum I think) asked him if they could remove the installations so they could be preserved as he intended to renovate the building. He ordered the installations to be taken down and melted instead of allowing them to be preserved.
Yea I remember reading about that. The thing that’s baffling to me is that he painted the gold parts white. Covering shit in gold paint has been his whole thing since like the 80s. If he painted the whole thing gold it wouldn’t be quite as confusing to me.
