I will still be working until November 25th, so not immediately dire. As well, I work for a union and there will hopefully be another position for me available for me to go into, but I am the sole working person in our household currently and the thought of both my husband and I being jobless is terrifying.
I thought you you were bragging and I came to congratulate you, dogg 😭
Now I’m sorry that happened and I hope things turn around quick for your family.
My typo is why you shouldn’t post ealy in the morning after a shitty sleep.
Thank you for your well wishes.
Getting laid? Awesome.
Getting off? Great.
Getting laid off? Not having a good time.
It’s a weird language.
Hi there, if things get dire, teaching English online is very easy to get into for fluent English speakers.
Good back-pocket job, or regular pocket if you like it.
Tbh, I don’t think the world needs more teachers without any didactic skills. If it’s something you’re actually good at, by all means go for it. But not everyone can be a good teacher.
This is a very fortunate time for English speakers.
The job demand is enormous, so if a fluent English speaker needs money, teaching English is a good option to be aware of.
Where do you find these jobs? For which employers?
Any number of “teach english online” lists include several options:

I’d recommend getting the TEFL certificate to max out your pay, but it isn’t necessary for some platforms.
That’s tough. I’m one of many in this economy who’s anxious about that possibility and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. The terrifying parts for me are that I have two kids in college, am trying to build retirement savings that I’m way behind on and will soon need, and ageism that will make it tougher to find a new position good luck finding a new place before it becomes an emergency
I was laid off in May. I wish I had a union. I hope you have better luck than I’m having.
