How do I hide/block an entire instance? - eviltoast

I checked the info in the sidebar, but the relevant part of the guide links to a page that is still under construction.

I just want to hide content in @lemmynsfw.com from showing up on my global feed. I like tiddies as much as the next guy, but that’s why I have the other account, y’know.

I prefer not to blanket hide everything marked nsfw, the occasional racey comic is fine. I also hate how subreddits like /r/idiotsincars will mark stuff nsfw just for someone going “oh shit!” in their dashcam footage. That’s obviously not what the tag is for! Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, it’s good to know it is there.

Here’s how you do it. First go to your settings page on the lemmy web ui. Click the hamburger menu in the top right, then your username, then Settings like this:

    Then click the Blocks tab:

Then scroll down to the Block instance and click the box, and enter the instance address to block. When you’re done it should look like this:

Et Voilà! Lemmynsfw.com posts disappear like magic.

This is for the default WebUI:

    • Account dropdown (top right)
    • Settings
    • “Blocks” tab
    • “Block instance” section
