Who tf is out there thinking “damn, those poor auto companies 😢”
Bootlickers
I ain’t one to kink-shame but it really disgusts me to how they deepthroat the boot at any given moment.
Apparently plenty of people on lemmy?
I keep seeing more and more comments defending corporations, police, “moderate” politics etc, and arguing against social welfare, living wages, unions, etc. There’s been a pretty sudden influx of comments that overtly discourage voting for Biden, pushing third parties, and/or discouraging voting. I can’t help but question their authenticity.
It’s not that it’s implausible for people to be disillusioned with US elections, or to want independent candidates. But they still aren’t exactly prevailing opinions. So when a bunch of similar comments show up suddenly in every post about US politics…sorry I’m not buying it, and no one else should either. We all know by now how social media has been used to influence elections.
But the anti-union shit is part of it. It’s always like “I believe in workers’ rights, but…” And who tf are the anti-shoplifting people? Defending huge corporations for forcing workers to wear cameras and add the additional job of “security guard” to their min wage workload, while constantly having to justify their own innocence? I can’t even comprehend defending that. But apparently people enjoy standing up for all the poor wittle multinational conglomerates so thoughtlessly abused by workers and customers. Think of the poor, poor corporations!
Lemmy being smaller makes botting that much easier

auto companies
Stock brokers
Just a reminderv that their demands include a 20% raise over 5 years.
You know - slower than the rise in cost of living.
Are you sure that is correct? Last I read the union demands went down from 46% to 36% over 4 years, and the auto industry offered 20%.
Am I stupid? This adds up to 96%. It can’t be a rounding error since it’s more than 3% off.
“No opinion” is also a choice that must be given when asking people for theirs.
“neither” is an option on the table, which is “no opinion” in my mind…
No because it still expresses an opinion: “I don’t empathize with either party”. “No opinion” means they literally have no opinion for many possible reasons.
Also, “Jewish space laser companies”. There’s lots of crazies out there!
Maybe had no opinion? Just a guess though
Probably. Or they included people that didn’t give an answer in the statistic.

When there’s article after article about how the common man can’t afford normal shit anymore, about how CEOs are taking in ridiculous cash hauls, about how these companies are just posting quarter after quarter of record profits, you start to think: what the fuck. Let the workers enjoy the rising tide too motherfuckers.
If you don’t throw em a bone they’ll bite your nuts off after a while.
Fox runs none of those articles.
“Don’t bite the hand that feeds you”
In this case the workers are the ones providing profit to the employers.
If Fox News ran the same poll, it would be 75% in favour of auto companies.
Don’t underestimate the media’s ability to push a narrative, because I think if 75% of Americans were pro union, the Republican and Democrat Parties would be finished.
I don’t think 75% are pro-union, but a large number are pretty resentful about the current cost of vehicles.
If I’m forced to pay extra for a car, I’d want to know that the extra was going to the factory workers instead of their bottom line.
And people say Occupy was a failure
