Nobody is gleeful, as far as I’ve seen. Yeah everyone who told people that this is what was going to happen gets to say “I told you so” but they aren’t happy, they’re just pissed off in multiple directions now.

I’m not gleeful at all. Just more sad. Sad for the Palestinians, sad for us in America, sad for the rest of the world too. What a huge mess.

Sadly I’ve seen several comments in other threads that I would regard as gleeful/mean-spirited, and over in the bad place they’re posting about voters from Dearborn on r/leopardsAteMyFace.

I think if people want to have words with the independents/third party contrarian crowd who couldn’t hold their nose and do the right thing that’s one thing. But going after people from the Palestinian/Levantine/Arab community who acted out of hopelessness is both counter-productive and profoundly lacking in empathy

      Edit: spelling

Yeah everyone who told people that this is what was going to happen gets to say “I told you so” but they aren’t happy, they’re just pissed off in multiple directions now.

This is like a drunk driver rubbing it in the face of their passenger that were able to hit 100mph before crashing…

Like, yeah, trump winning was bad.

But no one didn’t see that coming, we were trying to pull Biden/Kamala left on multiple issues because we said they were too far right to beat trump…

      And we were right…

And now the people who defended Biden/Kamala being so far right, won’t stop bringing up the fact that the genocide is still ongoing like it would have been if Biden won…

Which again, no one was ever disagreeing with.

But the drunk driver won’t addressed that they shouldn’t have driven drunk, they just keeping saying:

See, I told you we could hit 100mph before the cliff I was right and you were wrong.

It’s like explaining what a tariff is to a trump supporter, they’ll never understand because they’re hyperfocused on “slamming” the other person.

they’re just pissed off in multiple directions now.

If they were, they’d be upset at the candidates and their terrible policy positions that went against what Dem voters wanted.

Instead they spend all their time insisting we can never criticize the Dem candidate for anything because Republicans will always be worse.

Which is literally the reason Republicans ended up with trump…

I’m tired of responding to this stupid sentiment. Have fun on your moral high ground as the world burns around you.

          Then dont?

I mean you didn’t anyways, but just don’t reply.

What would be better tho, is if you started working on making sure the next Dem candidate represents the values of the Dem voting base.

That would be a good use of time, and we need all the help we can.

Have fun on your moral high ground

I voted Harris, Biden, Clinton in the last three elections. I’m just as covered in neoli eral shit as anyone else right now.

I’m just trying to get a better candidate next time. So they get more votes.

          You know…

Productive shit I stead of trying to split the dem voter base…

              There’s always a next time.

It might not be at the regularly scheduled time, there might be a bunch of extra bullshit, it might take much longer…

But there’s always a next time.

The alternative is giving up for good, and if that’s what you want to do, that’s your choice.

But there’s no reason for you to hang around and convince people there’s no next time and they should also give up for good.

Unless you want to maintain the new trump status quo, which hopefully isn’t your goal here.

The way things are looking right now - and this is only month #1- it’s hard not to feel a little disillusioned

and this is only month #1

                  For some people it is.

                  Others reached that line earlier.

A lot of those people are still regular dem voters and have been for decades, despite the disillusionment.

Rather than fight with them, why not join them?

                  Why not solidify the left?

I hear ya. I’m starting to think the US needs a real third party and it’s not J Stein or the greens. I mean a real third party.
