No where, society is held together by its ability to make people accept limited freedom in return for reasonable safety.

If humanity wants any chance on not collapsing on itself in the next 15 years we are going to have to rewrite the social contract and modernize human/living rights. I dont know how. but i don’t feel the prestige contest that is dated politics is going to help.

See you in 15 years when things are not over and the world has continued on and adjusted to whatever comes in that time.

The capital doesn’t mean epitome, it is currently the best for representing the people so in my view it is the capital.

I don’t think the world will be gone in 15 years but i don’t believe it will be the same either. The challenges we face in climate destruction and rapid technological acceleration are some of the biggest since human history.

If you really recognize some of the suits who frequent Brussels as representing you, well then i am not going to stop you from recognizing Brussels as some sort of capital of your personal ideals.

But to me they represent nothing but greed. My capital of freedom is whatever is creating independent thoughts in my Brain which are not any less or more valid then the independent thoughts of people around me.

Out of curiosity. Are you from Belgium or following belgium news? An investor by State media themselves admitted that about half the population do not feel represented by anyone in power and not protected by law enforcement.

Belgium is also routinely getting condemned for breaking human rights.

Just after the news came out that homeless male refugees would be refused their rights to asylum they did a large police action at brussels train station to forcibly remove all homeless (the majority refugees of Ukraine) while the police themselves admit that this is only a temporary clean up that doesn’t solve anything. But of course politicians had to be there to take pictures of their strong leadership.
