During three separate sessions, participants had two MRI scans each—one before and one after smoking or vaping episodes, which included tobacco cigarettes, e-cigarette aerosol with nicotine, and e-cigarette aerosol without nicotine.

Should be noted these results are present for cigarettes too.

Yeah, but that doesn’t make for catchy headlines.

So far the “negatives” for vaping is almost always something that already happens for smoking, but it’s overshadowed by the fact that smoking via combustible products is carcinogenic, and “gives you cancer”.

Anything that can be said negatively about vaping, is generally 100x worse with smoking, plus, smoking gives you cancer, so…

Long story short: vaping is less bad than smoking.

This does not and should not imply that it is good for you. It is simply less harmful.

The uniquely bad part about vapes has to do with the waste. Cigarette butts aren’t good for the environment or anything but disposable electronics are particularly bad

That’s a matter of what people are buying.

There’s plenty of ways to vape that reduce waste.

I’m very against disposable vapes. Using a refillable vape is a good start, but some of the most waste-free methods are basically banned due to child resistant packaging laws for vapes.
