Macron and Starmer commit to Ukraine for 'as long as necessary' - eviltoast

I wonder if this will still hold true if Trump ends US support for Ukraine.

Boris Johnson… went to Kyiv to bribe and threaten Zelensky into backing out

What did he bribe/threaten Zelenskyy with? I thought what he said to Zelenskyy was “decide what you want, and the UK will support your decision either way”.

It’s the only possible explanation for the blatant idiocy. I too have a wealth/health amount for which I am willing to suicide Ukraine.

In 2022 I think a lot of Ukrainians definitely did want to fight back and many people signed up for the military. They didn’t want Russia conquering their country.

Wanting freedom from the dictator in Moscow is not idiotic.

Ukraine rulership and nazi paramilitaries provoked the war. It is only nazi supremacist rulership/sentiment (very good at conscripting others) who can view it as reasonable to rule over regions they hate (Crimea and Donbas). There’s only one reason Ukraine has suspendended all elections and non-nazi supporting parties. They will lose elections.

Reality is so far removed from the western propaganda controlling you.

I think it would be good if the Donbas and Crimea could democratically decide their future, but I don’t believe the referendums held by Putin’s regime, given that the Russian regime rigs elections (that video shows ballot stuffing in Russia).

I don’t see how Ukraine, or Ukrainian far-right elements, provoked the war. The war was begun by Russia who sent their troops (illegally of course) into Crimea and the Donbas in 2014.

Sure ok. Referendums in Odessa and other current Ukrainian controlled areas too. There is no way that even 10% of Crimea and Donbas would prefer current Ukrainian regime rule. A return to someone like Yanukovich would be hard to trust because of the massive betrayal he got from IMF/EU despite wanting to be closer to them.

I don’t know what your video is showing. The fact that there is, seemingly official, video surveillance could have alternate explanation. Perhaps all of the other election workers there are validating mail in ballots, and she then collects them to put in box? I don’t know anything.

Ukraine suspending elections means that they can’t win even with “motivated election rigging operatives”. Liberated regions of Ukraine have had normal local elections.

The key point though is that it’s up to the people of Ukraine to decide if they want referendums. It’s not for an imperialist power like Russia to impose their own demands that Ukraine should hold referendums.

If Ukrainians wanted another leader like Yanukovych then they could have elected one in 2014 or 2019, but they didn’t.

Maybe Ukraine should have another election but it would be difficult when much of their land is illegally occupied by Russia.

Liberated regions like Kherson, liberated from the Russian invaders? Maybe they have had local elections, I dunno.
