I’m a little torn on the idea of UBI but it seems like these small scale experiments are kind of pointless.

If everyone in an entire society\nation has UBI we might start to see how having a safety net effects choices in aggregate. But if only one group in a nation gets it I don’t think the groups that don’t are really fair ‘controls’ because both groups will effect each other’s choices and options in unpredictable ways. Bad analogy but kind of like testing medicine on one half of a person and using the other half as a control group- if the disease effects the whole body the test is kinda meaningless.

There’s data that can come from these smaller tests. If the results have been good then maybe it’s time to scale up.

Ford government didn’t allow that data to get collected. Every time there is a test, quality of life and market participation improve. Every time.

But that means individuals aren’t desperate, which they should be or something.
