I would say 100% it does matter in the long run. It’s much easier to be mindful of my pace and make sure I don’t burn out if I’m going on 20K+ runs. Plus, it’s a great way for my wife to bother me while I’m trying to get my distance in for the week.

  • I trialed Tidal and thought it was fine. Just Fine. I’m trying Qobuz right now. It seems like all the things I like from Bandcamp but there’s also a paid streaming service. The audio sounds great on Qobuz and I like the option of buying HiRes albums for my local media server. I’m an iOS loser, and they just updated Apple Music with finally some good crossfade. I’m a simpleton and that appeals a lot to me. I can’t find crossfade setting on Qobuz for iOS. I feel like I would pick Qobuz over Tidal just for the ease of downloading my music to my Zune/iPod/subsonic/jellyfin.

  • Normally, I would agree with you. In the case of game keys, even though I have a physical cartridge now I have to make sure that servers are still up and available for me to download a game. So the massive market for retro games is kind of null and void if you’ve got a cartridge with nothing but a transferable license agreement on it and no way to actually get the game.

  • Steam family sharing lets you add somebody to an account where you own games. I have my son on my account so he’s able to download and play all the games that I’ve purchased and vice versa. However, he’s got a child account so I’m able to control what level of content he’s able to see.

YouTube is really cool right now. The video ads that come up are ai voices just rambling about some new discovery and a minute in I have no idea what the ad is supposed to be for. Another cool thing that happened while I was at work was YouTube showed me some sort of blocky AI generated image in the top left right of what appeared to be a woman performing fellatio. The neat thing was that it was an ad for roof repair.

  • I don’t watch TV, I have two kids, I listen to audiobooks while I run, and I have an hour commute. You better believe that I’m playing video games on my way to and from work. Especially Stardew Valley. That beats any new TV show that anyone has tried to get me into.
