  • I agree with the overall sentiment, but with a butt. If they plan on doing DLC to make the main story shorter, then the game is basically unfinished and you have to pay for the finished product. Now, that’s not always true. Sometimes there are good examples and I think most people agree on the DLCs for Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are prime examples how to do it right. As long as the DLC is not at cost of the main game, I’m fine with it. But as you said, the main story should be long as it should and not longer.

The main money maker will be probably GTA Online 2 and GTA 6 is just the drug to get into the world.

  • What is the problem with the literal “6” figure, that you specifically mention this? I prefer using numerals, but that comes from a programming standpoint and so it becomes the default way of numbering things. Also sorting with roman is also an issue. It’s just a habit.

Do gamers struggle reading roman numerals?

Why making a problem out of nothing and then asking a question with an implicit attack? That guy just used a numeral, that’s all. There is no deep psychological background and that gamers suddenly have a problem with roman numerals.

Man this is Twitter level of shit talk!

  • I don’t know the answer for sure, but think the global settings are like default settings. Each application can have different overrides. Not sure if the following is the correct quote to make, but sounds like this is how it works: https://docs.flatpak.org/en/latest/flatpak-command-reference.html#flatpak-override

    flatpak-override — Override application requirements

If the application ID APP is not specified then the overrides affect all applications, but the per-application overrides can override the global overrides.

I assume you know Flatseal (GUI application for Flatpak permissions), right? After installation of a Flatpak app, you can go to the Flatseal settings and make sure to disable access if the application enabled anything you don’t like. I do not think there is an automatic way to force a specific setting for all applications. You have to deal with this per application. But I can be wrong here.

  • Maybe no one can improve on OpenSuse. It’s also one of the lesser known distributions and wasn’t much talked for long time. Maybe there is not much to fork on, because OpenSuse basically does everything and satisfies most people.

Debian in example its hard to get into and make changes, and did not accept lot of packages in example. That means lot of people wanted to have an alternative. Debian is also opinionated and slow on updates, so there is lot of things people want to have it differently. And on Archlinux, its basically barebones distribution where lot of manual work is required to set it up. Its basically the perfect base distribution to fork on or derive from.

There are actually a few: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1b/Linux_Distribution_Timeline.svg

    • Gecko Linux
    • EasyNAS
    • Rockstor

  • Inkscape 100%

I’m a non professional and have limited talent. But I designed a few logos here and there (and still do) and the best tool for that is Inkscape in my opinion. GIMP is not well suited for this task, as it lacks proper vector tools and format support. Inkscape has excellent and professional grade support with easy to use interface. Krita could be used to create logos as well, because it has vector tools and format support, but I feel like the user interface and utilities are not as good as Inkscape for this task.

Unless you are an expert in Krita, and don’t want to learn or depend on new programs, then you could stay using it for creation of icons. GIMP could be used for icons too, if you just want to create raster format icons (as opposed to vector). In that case, GIMP could be well suited for this task too.

I never used any other program to make icons, so cannot tell you about alternatives. And I have no intention or need for it anyway, because to me Inkscape is the perfect tool for that task.
