Like Vonnegut’s Ice 9, but far worse. And apparently some people think it could be created in the LHC. The entire planet could be converted into a super dense ball of this stuff in minutes.

Data: While most liquids do not actually produce any audible sound, I find that if I increase the gain on my audio processors, I can discern the faint popping sounds emitted by the carbonation breaking the surface. However, I do not believe this is affected by the temperature of the beverage.
