  • be more vocal about how shitty this kind of behavior is and show support to those who are vocal about it.

If small loud minority can have effect on things, loud majority has big effect. It could for example lead to having protections against this because politicans would start to feel like their position is threatened if they dont, and if enough people care then they actually might be.

Just showing that you care about anything will have an effect even if people dont show it, because others will see that you care and if even one of those people also gets inspired by it you have done well. This is why its important to attend rallies too imo, even if you think it doesnt change anything. This is also why authorities want to suppress even peaceful rallies.

What does it even cost to you to be vocal about something that is wrong? People do it all the time about stupid things too, so why not do it for things that might benefit you?

And i dont mean be vocal just about this particular tv brand pushing ads all the time. i think its obvious but i have noticed it apparently isnt often.

if i ran a privacy focused company, i would keep records that are just wrong and dont link to correct people at all. If i actually need to make records maybe i would make somekind of system where i personally can use them, kind of like extra cypher on top of everything else that would transform/pick the useless data into actual data. So if someone demands the records and i just have to give them, i’ll just give them -> they cant get anything out of them anyway.

Can’t demand me to be competent too 🤷‍♂️ maybe i would give excuse that i used ai to wibe code the thing

  • at least cold weather drains battery, not sure how it affects the health in general but i dont think it does it any good. The people who have ev are most likely those who can also afford heated and closed space for their car. At least i have seen many teslas all around so it would make sense if there are even more evs because tesla is only car i can definitely tell is ev.

I wish evs had somekind of “emergency” battery that would charge the main battery if it gets too low so it would protect it from getting too empty.

  • what do you mean cared a little? what affects the battery most? I live in finland and at winters it can get -30c here and only place for car i have is outside. I also worry that i myself might wear the battery down really fast due to not being able to store the car properly. I also need to occasionally do long trips and when i visit my mother, i think the closest charging spot is at least 10km away so i might get stuck easily too if i run out of battery.

I really REALLY would prefer ev, i hate having to pay stupid prices for gas, taxes and even maintenance since combustion engine wears down much faster and worse. But the reality for me is that there just isnt enough infrastructure for ev in north finland for me to use ev without having to worry more than with my current car. I guess rich people dont have any problems no matter where they are, considering how many teslas i have seen, but i’m not one of those. + i just switched my car so my funds for it are expended for forseeable future unless i get work, which in finland seems about as easy to do than winning in lottery if you are not right type of person.

  • being asshole towards less technically adept people about linux should become something that gets you seriously shamed and even ostracized if it continues. that kind of behavior hurts ALL of us by reducing popularity of linux and this reducing developer interest in supporting linux, which also means less drivers for critical components which in turn might mean your pc just cant utilize linux.

Personally, i have issue of internet getting randomly cut off due to too old drivers for my network adapter/chipset/not sure. The motherboard i use is one of the latest there is.

This issue has apparently persisted for years now, according to forum posts about it. So i’m directly suffering from linux not being popular enough.

-> Someone else would just return to windows because this is quite insuffreable even for me. But personally i’m happier with malfunctioning linux system than correctly working windows.

  • the thing is, these ‘grifters’ have insane pull on our society, even across borders. That this is even happening is result of bigger problem that should be addressed. corporations should be SEVERELY limited in their power across the globe and results of not doing so is evident all around. I think way things are going, it will either lead to things getting even worse by forcing llm to everything or there will at some point be severe backlash which likely restricts llms badly and deprives us of their positive impacts too. Or the worse case scenario is llm usage increases and things get slightly less worse, but corporations gain even bigger grip on our throats via them.
