redrum@lemmy.mlto Ye Power Trippin' Bastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Mod at Palestine@lemmy.ml removes comment, probably based on a political bias.183·2 months agoThe post was deleted by an admin [1] and the ‘rule 1’ should be the instance rule 1:
- No bigotry - including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or xenophobia.
-
Your comment on the Palestinian community, in my opinion, is a poor analysis of the historical and material conditions that have led to the current situation in Palestine. It ignores Zionism, colonialism, and the structural racism of Israel, both as a Zionist political project initially and as an effective state later.
-
You repeatedly use ‘they’ in your comment, with these ‘they’ being the extremists. My interpretation of your comment is that it starts from the hypothesis that ‘extremism is bad’. I totally disagree. Often the extremists have been the vanguard of progress (people who believed that the earth revolved around the sun, ‘liberals’ willing to risk their lives cutting off the heads of kings and bishops…), although they can also be the vanguard of reaction (e.g. fascism).
If points 1 and 2 are correct, the violation of rule 1 is easily derived (dog-whistle, Zionist apology, anti-Palestinian resistance…).
IMHO, this only justifies deleting an elaborate comment if the community is defined as a safe space for Palestinians, they justifiably believe you are trolling, or they are flooded with similar messages. Otherwise, what the admin should have done is down-vote and reply for what they consider your argument to be toxic.

Thanks, I’m not sure if it’s better that the suggestions of @pruwyben@discuss.tchncs.de (⭐, 🌟) or use some ‘gloves’ emojis (🌍, 🌎, 🌏, 🌐). But I will try it (⁂)
Thanks, but I prefer an emoji/utf-x. Images are a problem when it comes to fitting text around them.

No, Israel is a settler state, Palestinians are the people that have got most of theirs homes stolen and have their country occupied.
they both believe they have a god-given right to?
Palestine is not an ethnicity based in religion, by example George Habash, cofounder of the PFLP, was Christian.
so what’s your solution?
The dissolution of the State of Israel by force to end the genocide. But the solution that matters is the one that Palestinians agree among themselves.

But it seems that it could be an anti-crawler in the .ml instance. See the answer from Dessalines to a similar problem in the MLem app.:
We blocked some crawlers on lemmy.ml today, so a dev would have to let us know what user agent mlem is using.
YDI, at least in the community of the lemmy.blajah.zone instance. In the other communities, a long ban could be excessive, but it’s not easy to judge that the transphobic[^1] post was done in good faith.
[^1]: e.g., two people with the same physical traits, one a cis woman, the other a transgender woman, your reasoning will let the first one practice the sport and will forbid it to the second one.
Edited
to clarify that they were community bans (not from instances).
Students have developed effective self-governance through student plenums or assemblies, where each student has the right to speak and all decisions are voted on. Ad hoc working groups are put in place to deal with various issues, from security and logistics to PR and legal questions.
The university occupations function without a discernable leadership, alternating the representatives who speak to the public. They are adamant about their autonomy, vocally distancing themselves from all political parties and party politics, as well as from established civil society organisations and even informal groups.
In doing so, they are creating a new political space and new means for the political to be enacted, breaking through the confines of ossified institutionalised politics and representative democracy.
[…] students in Serbia are fully controlling the institutions they have occupied while enjoying an overwhelming support of the public: around 80 percent of Serbian citizens support their demands.
All my support for the students and the Serbian working class, I was not aware of their conflict. The struggle reminds me of the Spanish 15M and, a bit, the US Occupy Wall Street. I hope they have better luck.

I prefer the formal name in spanish of estadounidense (united-statistian) to American.
Sorry for the poor quality of that response. But I did not have much time at the time, and it’s hard for me to write in English (it’s not my native language). I thought it was important to point out that in your post, well argued in general, you had introduced a statement without arguments that I don’t think fits reality.[1].
Although this may be a licence to give more force to an argument, I find it especially alarming when this is aligned with the construction of a narrative to promote American imperialism —Yankee anti-imperialism as my subjective position— with an argument with a clearly racist bias —for example: removing the whiteness and Europeaness of ethnic Russians, inciting hatred of Asians, especially those of Han ethnicity and those of Chinese origin—. All of this promotes the fascist drift of the USA and its Western allies.
In any case, and to clarify, I am not accusing you of doing so intentionally, but rather that these types of statements, which seem to me to be at the level of QAnon or flat-earthers, strengthen this fascist drift. BTW, I would have upvoted it without that phrase.
Elon Musk lives in the USA, is a member of the US government, has not disagreed (or I am not aware of it) with the tariffs on China or Russia, most of his businesses are based in the USA, he has used the Skyline satellites concurrently with the geostrategic interests of the USA —at least in Ukraine and Iran—,… He could be a detestable human being and an opportunist politician, but their interests seem aligned with the new techno-aristocrat group of the states-unitians oligarchy-only party, now controlled by their Republican faction. ↩︎
Twitter only had value to musk because he wanted to use it as a disinformation tool to help SA/Russia/China.
🤦🏼
They will be in the Israel Genocides Forces (aka IDF) now --at least jews, and druzes and Circassian men-- masskilling people (except a minority disobeying their apartheit laws).
