  • You’re right, going for asphixation is more dangerous than many folks assume, especially since it has become quite normalized through porn. Most porn scenes and I assume most more vanilla folks at home don’t restrict blood flow, they just put their hands on the neck without much pressure for the feeling of domination.

If you still want to engage in actual breath play… There are good resources on the risks and different techniques of choking and breath play out there, don’t put actual pressure on a persons neck without informing yourself and talking about the risks. One variation is to instruct a person to hold their own breath once you touch their neck, so you still are only simulating a choke without actually putting pressure on the neck.

  • If you would look at all of the posts from reddit nsfw subreddits then a lot if them would seem very weird to you. It just doesn’t make sense to drink from the firehose of all the nsfw subreddits, would be way too many posts, you just look at your subscriptions or a specific subreddit. Because lemmynsfw is way smaller, overall post count is maybe measured in posts per hour instead posts per second, most people seem to primarily look at /all aka /local. I think the web UI also defaults to /local instead of /subscriptions, which doesn’t help the issue.

This leads to many people downvoting posts in coms that they aren’t part of. The long term solution would be improvements to lemmys filtering system. Also the option to only allow voting in coms that you’re subscribed to looks promising. But this needs dev time and capacity. I’m positive that downvotes will be activated again once lemmy improves for lemmynsfw’s use case.

  • I just lost my really long comment that I had written, so I’ll make it quick…

    Can the admins please clarify?

    • My understanding is that the non-con rule only applies to IRL non-con that happened and was recorded in media, not stuff is like drawings of fictional characters, correct?
    • How do we identify non-con? So far I understood that to mean explicit rape play, where a person tells the other person to stop and they don’t, but it seems people are interpreting this rule far broader? What is your definition?
    • What are the requirements for a “sauce with obvious context” that’s proofs that something is consensual? Their profile says that all their recordings are consensual? It’s a professional shoot with a company? It’s an official post from an OF/Fansly creator? What counts as proof?

  • I fully support your right to promote and make a living with your content. But there must be the possibility for people to create coms exclusively for exhibitionists that like to post for the thrill of it. These people has as much right to have a platform as you have. Mods are also literally working for free to keep coms safe, on topic and legal. Everyone should feel welcome on this site. (as long as they are following the rules and laws, of course) Let’s find a way to exist well alongside each other. :)
